Can't decide - SR Midnight or SL

If only the SR Midnight came with a moonroof...I understand why but just can't seem to make up my mind on which to choose.

Anyone else have this dilemma? Which did you go with?

My thoughts so far:
  • SL: Like Moonroof
    • Live in Southern California so will get used a lot.
  • SR: Like the 19" all-black wheels, etc. on the Midnight package
  • Test drove both and really didn't feel dramatic driving difference - SR felt tighter. Not a fan of the torque pull though.
  • Could go with SL and pay extra for a rear spoiler and 18" alloy-wheels to get the 'midnight look'
    • Could also get SL w/o wheels and use the $900 towards aftermarket black rims.
  • Can get slightly better deal on SL, no game changer here though.

I'm torn between SL and Platinum. The sunroof is the deal breaker on the SR or I'd go with that myself. Comes down to price when I get in the dealership perhaps this weekend or Monday last day of the sales. What kind of pricing are you getting offered?

I found a platinum in silver loaded with premium spoiler sticker 41,750 i believe they want 38k on the internet price but I bet its possible to take it for 36 with the 0%. Going to send an email over.

Just picked up my SL yesterday. Love, love it! Got it with the rear spoiler, illuminated kick plates and rocker moldings. List was 39,805, after lease cash paid 33,100. In my opinion, the SL is the best bang for the buck.

SL hands down. you can buy your 19" wheels, buy your own stiffer shocks. cheaper in price.

On the SL I want to be out the door a 33k tax title lic or id go platinum. Also would like the dealership to install the 19" SR wheels on the car- wonder if they would do that to make the sale? The optional black 19" SR wheels I mean.

The SR suspension is more then just "stiffer shocks", this is from the Nissan website;

Maxima® SR combines a sport-tuned suspension with advanced dynamic technologies. Specialized hardware includes specially tuned ZF Sachs® dampers with a monotube design in the rear, and a reinforced chassis. The SR is also equipped with retuned struts/shocks, stiffer springs and larger front stabilizer bar, giving it a suspension tuned especially for performance

Nissan kills me, why do all that and give it a CVT. Besides, who races maxima professionally?

Based on what MSRP/Invoice price? Including which rebates?

So, I ended up getting the SL with the 18" alloy-wheels and a couple other options.

Thanks, it made my decision easier to go with the SL and have that SR Midnight look.

I might go with the black SL- they have it on the lot- I may ask to have those wheels added on. I really wanna get the price down to 31-32k plus TTL with the 0.9% for 72.

Anyone have a dealer swap for the color and model you want and still got a good deal?

I tried doing a vehicle locate at one dealer, and that deal fell through; all kinds of bs for not honoring the same price because it was not in their inventory. You may have better luck than me, but use caution. Here's what I did: I used trucar. However, I did not by my car from a trucar certified dealer as none of them had the exact vehicle in stock. Trucar dealers will typically only honor pricing for in stock vehicles. If they have what you want in stock, go for it: your search ends there. Since I wanted my SL in deep blue pearl, which very few dealers had at the time, I had to do some homework. I went online to Nissan, built the car, did an inventory search, confirmed the dealer online inventory and basically located the vehicle myself. I then brought the trucar pricing that I wanted to that dealer, and used it as leverage to move out their own inventory. Success! Bought my SL for 32k cash before tax. It was a lot of work, but it paid off in the end.

When did you get that price? Lately or a while back? 32 plus TTL is exactly what I want. Also was that with the 0 or 0.9 finance NMAC?

That was recently, this past Memorial Day weekend. I waited until end of the month on top of multiple factory rebates so that's how I got over 6k off the msrp. I didn't finance or lease my car so I can't help you there.
