The Direct Tune option for SXM is sometimes available and sometimes not (greyed out).

There seems to no rational reason as to when it is and when it isn't. For instance, during the course of an hour drive today, it wasn't available and then it was.

Strong SXM signal the whole trip, and I did not turn the car off and then on.

While it was not available, I turned radio on & off several times, and it remained unavailable.

Left radio on and at some point, DT reappeared.

All other functions seem to working fine. Dealer sez that I have the latest SD card updates.

Any thoughts?

Its greyed out when I go in motion, and returns when Im at a stop.

Memory tells me that it appeared will I was in motion, however...my memory is no longer trustworthy...so I'll experiment later today.

Your experience sounds like something that would have been implemented because of safety concerns, like entering an address in your GPS.

On the other hand...I have to reach to the right side of the main screen in order to tune manually...but that's another story.
