Heavy Duty Suspension

I just bought a 2001 Maxima and I need to replace the rear struts and springs. I carry about 300 lbs in the trunk, so I need some good struts and springs. What's the cheapest quality struts and springs I can get that will hold some good weight? Race suspension is fine.

Thanks

- Brian

props for posting in the right section, but that isnt too much weight. you will be fine with any setup other than trash ebay no name parts.

i would say this, cheap and quality dont usually coincide.

OEM parts should be good enough, but any aftermarket springs that have a higher spring rate to better support the weight are also going to be shorter than stock springs, which is not what you're looking for. The best thing you could do is get some coilovers (that come with stiffer than stock springs) and set the ride height exactly where you want it. But coilovers will hardly be the cheap compared with crap springs and shocks. Do you want it cheap, or do you want it right? Because you can't have both.

Considering the stock suspension is built to hold a couple adults in the backseat, which would be about 300lbs or more, I wouldn't think that weight in the trunk would be a major issue for stock suspension, assuming you're not also carrying people in the backseat.

And yes, I'm just posting because I haven't posted here in many years, lol...
