No, headunit only.

Why would you want to run it any other way?

as long as the line gets a 12 volt source then your amps will turn on.

Remote from Hu is the IDEAL way though. You could use the ign, but I'm still wondering WHY?

Exactly. You can also use any 12v wire with a switch on it if you wanted to...

But I, too, am wondering why you would want to do this Somethign wrong w/ the remote lead on your H/U?

you could use a PAC TR7 if you are electronically (sp?) inclined.

other than that, an Accessory wire. but if you're gonna go there, you might as well run from the HU..

Right, i think something wrong with my remote wire for my after market headunit.

Because you know how like the harness comes with the yellow and red color wires? yellow is the 12v power, and the red is the 12v ignition.

If my remote wire doesn't work, can i go head and attach to the RED one? which is 12v ignition?

+12v constant is yellow. Don't connect to that one.

Connect to red if you must.

Or, get a meter and test the remote wire when your HU is on...

That's what I figured. It should have been obvious, but make sure you check the blue remote wire all the way back to where it enters the h/u. Some h/u's have an inline fuse that could be blown. If yours has one, it will probably be an older glass-tube type fuse encased inside a plastic thing...

Other than that, hooking your amps up to the red wire SHOULD be ok, as long as you aren't pulling too much current from whichever circuit it's on. Relay may be needed.

just run it into your fuse box if you still have a BOSE HU. run it off of the ACC audio 10 AMP Fuse.

Here's an article that addresses the very problem of a burned out or non-existent remote wire on a head unit.

My friend is looking to add some subs to his 2000 Max with Bose. The stock sub is blown and he has an amp and subs already. Can he just use the high-level inputs on the amp and hook it up to whatever the stock bose amp is running without interrupting the rest of the speakers? Will this sound decent(IE, better than the Bose w/blown sub)?

Also, in regards to the remote wire, is connecting it to the ACC audio 10 AMP fuse the best way to turn on the amp?

Thanks,

are you sure you are hooked up to the remote wire and not the power antenna wire? they do behave differently. the power antenna wire would turn off every time you switch from radio to cd. they do make low volage triggers relay module so you can use a signal from for example a rear speaker in your trunk and its output can be used as the remote for your amp. same as the PAC TR7 that mendon mentioned
