Stock Bose radio. Amp & Subs?

Is there a way I can install an amp and subs with my factory bose radio? Or will I have to get an aftermarket radio? I am not an audio expert so bare with me. I can do just about everything else though

The search button is your friend...

But yes. The bose headunit is low-level (unamplified) meaning you can just splice RCA's into the speaker wires behind the radio.

i wouldnt do that because the factory head unit is 1 ohm and most aftermarket amps and subs are 4 ohms

No the headunit is NOT one ohm, the speakers are. No amp or headunit has resistance, speakers do.

Also you should search, we are not noobs, the majority of us have worked on these cars for 5+ years.

Please dont feed inaccurate info. This is what leads to people having problems with their car. If you dont know the facts, please dont reply.

thats if you want to keep going bose, but if you do want to add amps and subs, you could always use converters like rockford fosgate 360, audio control lc8, jl cleansweep,....

I had a sub hooked up with my stock Bose system in my 07.I got a hi/low convertor and hooked it up at the rear speakers in the trunk.Takes like 10 minutes.

As far as sound, its not bad,not great but not bad.Make sure you use an amp with a remote bass **** because thats the only way to control your volume. This is very important because you'll have to adjust it from song to song and input to input.

For the price and the time involved this is a pretty good way to go.

OR use absolutely no converters at all since None of them are needed.

You dont need to change eveything else.Just make sure you buy the right wiring harness and you'll be fine.Go to the Metra website and put in your car info and it will show you everything you need.Swapping HU's is a very easy thing to do.

I am looking in to just adding my subs in the back of a '00 I30 that I am looking at getting. I just figured out that I would have to import a dash kit from overseas from someone on this site and really don't have the funds to do that right now so I am thinking about just putting my subs/amp which I already have and hook it up with the stock bose. My question is can I just hook them up to the bose h/u. I know nothing about the stock system and what can be hooked up. Any help on just getting two 10s hooked up with everything else stock would be appreciated. I am guessing I would need to get one of those sub controls which are not that expensive but what else would I need other than obviously and amp wiring kit?

Sorry to hi-jack this thread, but as a new user I cant post new topics. Im looking at maintaining the stock HU with bose on my 04 Maxima. Problem is, I cant find a proper wiring diagram anywhere of the rear bose amplifier clip. Im looking at either using an MTX RE-Q or if I can get away with it, just splicing in rca's to the line level's coming from the HU. Either way - does anyone have an ACCURATE description of what each wire is in the bose amp connector?

Any and all help is appreciated - and again, sorry for the hi-jack.
