Nexus 7 install question

I'm looking to do the Nexus 7 mod as indicated by a member of this forum:

The main part I'm confused on is the steering wheel controls. According to this thread/wiring diagram guide:
https://maxima.org/forums/audio-elec...ng-colors.html - the red wire and blue with yellow are both considered "data" signals which I intend to hook up to the Joycon - http://www.changjack.com/user_guide/...rGuide_eng.pdf

Joycon indicates that it has two channels with white and ground wires. Do I just connect both Wire A and B (from the thread) as data wires to this thing so I can program it or is there something I'm missing?

Example: Red goes to white data wire on Joycon/black is grounded on head unit, Blue w/ yellow goes to white data wire on Joycon on Channel B and grounded again on the head unit.

Thanks!

Where are you seeing anything that references data? The Maxima does not use any data signals like CAN-BUS, VAG-COM, etc. All are electrical.

I've decided to bypass the Joycon and go straight for a Bluetooth controller. Same with price and less wiring. By data signals I'm referring to what resistive wire is used since both volume up and up and volume down and down use different ones if I'm reading the original post correctly?

Still electrical.

Research the Access ASWC. Easier interface. Already works with Maxima steering wheel controls.
