I took apart my dash to throw in my Pioneer DHEP-4000 Headunit to replace the stock one and on the antenna connector there are two prongs instead of the one that goes into the Pioneer antenna plug. Am I gonna have to go out and buy an adapter for it? Can anyone tell me what I'll need? Or is there a way around this? Thanks.

crutchfield sells the adapter for $9. the part # is 12040NI10. While your at it you shold probably get the wiring harness as well, for $8. the part # for that is 120707550

Or just go to your local best buy/circuit city/hh greg/whatever and save yourself shipping cost and time

Course, they're still a rip off, those things have about a 1200% markup on them...

Yeah, you have to get an adapter or else the new head unit will not work.

ground

instead of wiring the ground into the wire harness, just ground the deck to a metal peice somwhere behind the dash. it'll work better (dunno how and y) i think it'll reduce engine noise. fry's also has the wire harness. might have the antenna adapter too.

in case u wanted help

if you plan to get aftermarket speakers and amps, you should run a 4ch. rca up to the front along with your 2ch sub rca. run the rca throught the center of the car, beneath the centerconsole carpetting. run the power on the side of the car. that way you'll avoid engine noise. the reason for running the 4ch. rca is so that you won't have to run cables again. tape up the end up the 4ch rca's so they won't touch ground. wrap them up individually then wrap them all together for neatness. then when u decide to get amps and speakers you can just plug em' in. also run wires for your speakers along with the rCA. hide all the wires under the dash somwhere and when you're ready pull em' out from behind the dash. (that means u gotta hide it where you can reach but not see, give it alotta slack) oh yeah also remember to run your remote wire to turn on your amps.

do the aftermarket stereos fit flush in the dash like the factory stereo? or does the removeable faceplates stick out a little

flush mount

i flush mounted my deck. they stick out about .25" u gotta either grind the existing hole to push the whole unit back. or you can drill new holes. drilling new holes and using spacers would help alot better. you need the spacers because the factory dash mounting points go in, making the screws too short to securely mount the deck with the new holes.. sounds confusing but.. if u get the point the cool
