I previously used Meguiar's G17216 Ultimate Compound. Previously, the hood, as seen on the pic, was really faded. It seemed as if it had accumulated a lot of oil or something of that nature. I used this compound. It effectively restored the paint to some extent. However, underneath that layer was these swirl/scratch marks.

My 07' red max was all most this bad and the only way I was able to remove them was sanding and polishing. My Roof is even worse and I haven't had time to do that yet..

Apparently it gets worse after a wash. and here is another angle. you can ignore the trash on the hood, dumb trees.
Thanks for the reply. The car is fairly dirty right now and my phone cant seem to take good pictures that show the problem. I'll try to wash it later today. However, after a good wash, the hood has those "scratches" all over. The hood also has areas the are tougher to see. It seems as if the hood is dirty/oily. As for the roof, there is close to no shine, probably no clear. It remains oily/faded, etc.
WOW! Well, to clear something up, swirl marks are scratches but I see your concern. At this point, those are deep *** scratches in your car. Post more pictures at different angles if you can.
