Steering Leak - fixed

…about 200k Miles 2011 max-SV, while replacing firewall engine mount, noticed the Rak n Pinion started to leak… fast forward 318k, am filling up Power Steering reservoir monthly (none of them store stop leaked worked)

old school uncle in his 80’s says: (Nephew), mix a 50/50 brake fluid and heaviest weight oil, syringe out oil in reservoir, then pour in and watch….

2k miles later, worked like a charm, no more leak

there’s a tube vid on replacing this Gen Rack, and 3 years back, surgery would have happened.

chime in…

was your power steering fluid leaking? I have a 2010 that I think is leaking power steering fluid.

Was leaking from the rack seals.

No more a problem from that 50/50 mix

Interesting. Old farts rule! I would be interested in finding out how long this lasts!
