Group Buy Discussion for 1st gen I30 Body Kit
Mods, if this is in the wrong section, by all means, please move.
Calling all 1st gen I30 owners out there!! Ive emailed Extreme Dimensions and discussed production of a body kit for our cars! Also threw in there a possibility of a group buy to sweeten the deal.
The only two companies that make kits for our cars is ED and Sarona and the latter is known for making overpriced garbage for these cars. ED has the Hiro Kit replica so I figured they might be interested in producing a replica of the unicorn of kits (well stateside anyways)....the Autech kit.
I think its really clean aside from the ginormous spoiler and the viagra'd tailpipe.
Heres a copy of the email I sent and received:
Hi Im from an Infiniti forum and wanted to possibly pursue a group buy deal with you guys.
The group mentioned all own first generation Infiniti I30's (95-99) and were looking to buy a full bodykit/lip kit for it. We understand you guys have the VIP bodykit (Hiro kit Replica) but were more interested in an Autech kit replica if you guys were willing to produce it.
If you were interested in partaking this deal, how many people would you need as 100% confirmed buyers?
Thanks so much for considering this matter,
Hi,
We would definitely be interested in producing this kit for you and your fellow enthusiasts. The main first hurdle to jump would be the kit itself. Do you or one of the others interested in the kit already have this kit? If so, it would speed the process along greatly.
Thanks and Have a Great Day,

^ Sup Mike? Im glad you took my advice and joined! And thanks! . I havent gotten a price yet since he doesnt even know what the kit looks like so he wouldnt be able to get a ballpark on production costs yet let alone retail prices. If I can get enough "yes's" on here, then Ill email him back and go from there.

You mean the one similar to the one HomerMac is selling?

If I had a 1st gen i30, I would be all over that autech kit in the first post. Only thing I dont like about it is the rear bumper. If you get them to reproduce that kit, I would highly consider getting a 1st gen I30 and transfer all my mods over to it and sell my 2nd gen.

I think the rear end of this is hideous:
And while the front is better, I think it's a little over the top.
I don't know what is going on with the side body moldings here, but they're retarded.
That, and the front is worse than the OEM US spec bumper.
The less said about the Diana kit the better.
IMO, everything about the Evo kit is perfect. If I could vote for it 10 times I would.
But yes, if we could just get a replica made of the Nismo front lip that HomerMac is selling, that would be my choice above all the rest.

Also, has anyone put Maxima Stillen side skirts on an I30?
Oh, and did I mention that the spoiler on the Autech kit is atrocious....while the one with the Evo kit is ******* awesome!

wow.. i see a few of the popular i-riders here...
stillen sides fit fine. But the problem is it doesnt flow well witht he front and rear bumpers shape. its kinda weird to describe.
I am ALLL IN FOR A FULL AUTECH KIT ANYDAY. But it has to have and rear in polyurethane.. BUT a FULL kit needs the Door moldings as well. I would def. be all over that.
Ionic sides really flow well with the iride but at the sacrifice of stillens polyurethane. Ive ultimately decided to stick with the polystillen for durabilty as a daily driver and front a32 nismo lip.
To the post about full Nismo lip? WHERE? I would love to see it. I didnt even seee it on the car I got my lip from. Ive seen two pictures. The front bumpers on the nismo ones are maxima lower (fog, radiator scoop) molded into the i30bumper upper and side portions. it is realy neat.
waiting to see the outcome...

The replica kit they made of the Hiro is Duraflex so Im sure itll be the same for this next kit. If you guys prefer polyurethane, I can let him know and see what he says.

replicas are whack so autech and impul should not be considered afaiac (although the impul kit is and always will be the sickest kit ever made for the a32). the other issue is they've both been d/c for years so you're going to have a very hard time finding one. even if you did, just be happy you have one and take pride in having a rare and authentic piece. do not provide it to a knockoff company to reproduce.
evolution is clean, based on the u.s. spec bumper but with additional "lip" + clean sides and rear. it can be imported without too much effort since the parent company is the same as auto couture which is distributed worldwide. support authenticity. if you can't afford the real thing you don't need it.
diana kit should be left alone. it has outdated vip styling cues for mid grade cars. also available for import through stateside vendors.
