Steering Wheel Buttons

2003 Infiniti I35

After I had my local car audio store install my aftermarket deck with subwoofers, my buttons on one side (to control the my deck options like volume and seek). The right side of the steering wheel with cruise still works. When they installed it, they gave me a call saying that if I want the left side to work, they would have to install another connector or something that would cost me $150. After already spending over a grand and them saying they need more of my money for other "improvements" I decided to just deal with it and take a look at it for myself.

I was wondering if anyone has gone through this or if they know how I should pursue getting that side to work. Is it an accessory part that I need to purchase and hook up? I tried taking a look under my steering wheel but I couldn't really come up with a fix right there. Any help would be helpful! Thanks guys!!

Yea that shop is a rip off then. The thing you need is a steering wheel control. It is about $50 and 5 mins to install

Is it easy to install? Do I need to take apart a lot of the steering wheel? Do you know what part it is? Thanks!

You would have to remove the headunit, dont need to touch the steering wheel. They have photos specific directions for the maxima which is the same as us on their website. If you are familiar with cutting and connecting wires its easy.

Thanks for posting a link to what I need to buy. Could you give me a link to where I can find those pictures? I am pretty familiar with installing decks and whatnot, just didn't want to touch it since I had Bose speakers. Thanks man, I appreciate it!!
