Max tire sizes

I had 235-55-17 Michelins on stock rims on my 03 I35 and the only time I got any light rub was occasionally on a sharp right turn on the right inner fender. I put a set of 225-60-17 on the car and I am having a lot more rub, both front and back.
Just thought I would throw that out for anyone interested.

The 17 inch tires that the op has are bigger in height/diameter than thee 18 inch tires because of the the sidewall height. When you talk tire sizes, that is the middle number.

225/45/18 = 25.985 inches
245/45/18 = 26.694 inches
235/55/17 = 27.191 inches
225/60/17 = 27.664 inches

The rub in the back is on the mud flap thing and that is only when I have someone in the rear set and am on uneven ground.
Thanks Dennis for posting the tire sizes. If I had realized the 60's were that much taller, I would not have gotten them.
At 60 mph, I am running about 4 mph slow on the speedo.
