Cv axle replacement
#2
The transmissions are the same, but there are 2 transmissions. Limited slip and non limited slip. Very few Maximas in the US have limited slip, but I believe that limited slip was standard on the Infiniti. The left axle is different between the two. The right axle is the same.
To identify which transmission you have, look under the hood. There is an aluminum plate attached to the firewall on the passenger side. Down towards the bottom of the plate it says "TRANS AXLE followed by the transmission model number.
the auto trans model number is RE4F04A or RE4F04V
the manual trans model number is RS5F50A or RS5F50V
Look at the last letter. If it is V then you have the limited slip transmission. An A is non limited slip.
