New Ride-1999 i30
Hey guys!
Just picked up a new-to-me 1999 i30 with 276,xxx miles...for 900 bucks.
In great condition imo for the miles, minus a few dents, interior is clean with no tears and the paint still shines.
only had 2 problems when I bought it on Tuesday:
1. The cigarette lighter didn't work. New fuse solved that.
2. Service engine soon light is on. Previous owner said his mechanic always said it was some sensor, and car wasn't affected. Had the codes pulled and apparently it's the EGR or EGR sensor.. can't remember. Is that a big deal?
Car runs and drives great, had an oil change done already, and seafoamed it.
Also used some rain-x headlight restore and got some Sylvania silverstar headlight bulbs.
Plans for mods are:
1. a short ram intake, which is in the mail.
2. LEDs to replace dim gauge cluster lights
3. possibly a catback exhaust, might just buy a muffler and have local shop weld it up instead of paying 600 bucks for a megan... I mean I only paid 900 for the car
4. Some nice HIDs for the headlights that won't cause too much glare, and some nice yellow HID fogs.
So, opinions? good deal for $900?
Here's the craigslist ad, if it isn't taken down already: http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/5586559266.html
Pics are from before a good wash and headlight restore and new bulbs
Looking forward to good times with this baby, Nissan for life

Forgot to mention, I bought this from the original owners. they kept it in good shape. Planning to do new spark plugs, fluids, etc. just in case though as soon as I get back from a trip next week.
