Hmmmm.....

That would allow for some more time to get some exterior mods tints/corners and a drop.

But, you're gonna be hard-pressed to get anybody driving for that long of a distance, myself included. Gas $$, lodging $$, food $$. And then the 15 hour trip back and forth, man I'd need another vaca after coming back. Not to mention dyno and track $$, this could set someone back $500 easily.

You make a good point, but you've got about a year to save up money.

I'm down... I should be packing some hard core heat by then..... get off my **** and install some cams in my ride. I know this is a far cry from anything... but I would reather see a road race track day there... than drag day. I know like 99.9999% of the people here DRAG, I bet like 90% of people would switch to road racing if they where shown how much fun and andrenaline it could be !

Cant afford to be swapping pads rotors and changing out suspension every 5K miles Mike.

Roadracing will tear your car up.

I dunno I road raced my SE-R for years and only repleaced the rotors 2 times and had 4 sets of pads. I know SE-Rs- older ones are cars to be taken to the road race track alot.... but My maxima holds up just fine... I think I beat my car up way more than anyone here. I wanna say I beat on it that much so I can build a new motor for it...till then the old VQ is fine Drag Racing sucks.

Well, where are we at with this? Is everyone still planning on going? I will know within a few days if I'll be making the trip.

Prinz - Do you want to start a head count?

I was really hoping to go. We had begun planning it and everything. All was cool until I realized that is the weekend of my graduation. D@mmit! I guess I'll just have to settle for the Byron meet.

That's the family stuff I was referring to. Our son graduates HS Tuesday, June 7th. I don't think our party will be till the 18th or so. I asked if he wanted to do a road trip to Texas for the meet. He wasn't sure, but I'll have it figured out in a few days.

Alright.. If anyone wants to ride down w/ me, I am most def going.. This would be a good excuse to take my wife to visit her mom who lives in Fort Worth.. I drove down there once before and the ride isnt that bad.. We left at about 5:00am and got there around 8:00pm.. About 15 hours all together.. Just let me know.. PZ Sam

I'm about 90% sure I'll be going, but I'll probably make the trip in 2 days. 15 hours straight would be tough.

Who else is planning on it?

So far so good. I've done the drive to TX in a minivan in 18 hrs. All because my dad wouldn't let me take it past 80.

I might wanna do it as well. Thing is i might be in Tampa for Memorial Day weekend. So i dunno if i'm gonna be able to take another weekend off work.

Hey Bluesbrekr - I drove straight to montreal (14 hours) in one shot (by myself) this summer. Wasn't bad at all. If you have someone else in the car, it should be no prob at all.

It is actually a fun ride, St Louis is cool to see and some parts of Oklahoma are nice as well.. There is also a good bit of road in Oklahoma called "the turnpike" where the speed limit is 75mph.. Fun to drive but gets boring really quick..

Yea, 75mph is bad a$$. When i drive through Michigan it's 70 & i love it. Why are they so afraid to raise the limit around here? Not like anyone ever drives under 65.
