If you guys plan on driving at TWS as well, make sure you leave earrrrrly friday morning. driver's meeting is around 8-8:30 and if you miss it, you don't drive!

I would recommend coming up on Thursday and staying in College Station that night so you have a full night's sleep before you go out on the track.

I dont plan on doing the track event.
I do not speak for everyone though.
I will contact everyone individualy and feel them out as to a departure time.
The earlier the better.

Here is the list I had before that comnfirmed they were going.
I have sent PM's to these members asking to post up with their suggested time and we can go from there.

I am in for whatever time is chosen, I do not plan on the track event either but I will have no problem showing up if others want to. Maxus takes place the week of my big 25 so I should not have a problem getting time off from work.

Magik You can caravan with me to Temple and we can meet them off of I-35 instead of them going out of the way just to scoop you up, man. We both live in Killeen. We can pick a good departure time in the early morning and wait for them right off the highway. That reminds me. I need to scout a good place for all this to happen. Ill get back to you on where we will meet off the highway Flavor 24/7.

I don't plan on participating in the track event but i wouldn't mind on watching it. I say we leave pretty early Friday, somewhere around 8:00a.m. Once the track event is over we could follow every one else to the hotel near the event.

Every one in S.A. needs to think of a place we can meet up to leave. My suggestion is at Lowe's home Improvement Warehouse on Ih 35N and O'Connor, so once every one showes up we can just hit the Highway.

8:00 am sounds good, that means you S.A. guys should hit Austin at around 10:00 give or take a bit.
Give about another 45--60min. from Austin to reach the Temple Guys.
I'll get with the Austin Guys and find a spot for us to meet the S.A. group. which will be off I-35.
Where is the track event tacking place?
I was under the assumption it was in Bryan?
If so, that will be kinda out of the way if were planning on heading out to Dallas Friday morning.

College Station is definently out of the way! If we take off at 8:00 that doesn't mean 8:45. I think the Lowe's That Royal_T said is a perfect spot. Try and be there by7:30-7:45, so we can leave proptly at 8, maybe 8:15 if your running late. For us guys leaving from SA be considerate, we have other people to meet up with along the way so if we start out late than that throws everything off. Maybe we should start getting some phones numbers as this gets closer so we can stay in better contact especially the day of the trip.

EXACTLY!
and if/when you do get pulled over:
1. DO NOT mention maxima.org or car clubs. that just means they get to write 10 tickets because all the other Maxima drivers they saw were going the same speed as a group and you admitted it by saying you were in a club travelling together.

2. (If this gets you thrown in jail, I didn't say this.. ) DO NOT pull over as a group. if the cop pulls one person over, the rest of you keep driving. don't make it easy on them. you're not going to get out of the ticket no matter what, so there's no point in letting yourself get written up.

trust me, you wont be speeding too much.
The road to Dallas turns into ONE lane.
It is also full of pot holes and cracks. Its a ruff ride. best to to cruise around 70-80.
This is a caravan, not the gumball ralley.

i went up there recently, i didnt see any cops, but it was a rough ride.
I have multiple sets of FRS radios we can use if any wish. There good for communication for gas stops or what not.

The cops have some nice cars out there too, I was cruising up to Wichita Falls and inbetween Waco and Dallas I saw a group of about 5-7 cars pulled over with several cruisers, 2 of the cop cruisers were Camaros, so they have some speed out there.

State troppers have always used camaros, and back in the day mustangs as well.

Have we decided on meeting places along the way. Maxus is only a month away and we dont want to wait til the last minute. We need to get something concrete for Austin and Temple as far as where you want us from SA to meet you? Post, and let us know.

If the S.A. guys leave S.A. by 8:00, they should be in Austin anywhere from 9:45-10:00am
So I would expect us Austin guys to leave Austin no later then 10:30-10:45
Im hoping for a time closer to 10;00

Sounds good. From Austin to Temple is about a what 45 minute drive. Not too sure. Im not going to drive to Austin that'd be traveling backwards for me then coming back up again. Ill be waiting at my area off of I-35 at around 10:00am. Ill get that location tomorrow as I am going to Temple tomorrow anyway. Flavor 24/7 that sounds tight. Didnt think about the communication radios, this is going to be good! I can also pm my phone number to anyone that needs it.

ouch.. that sucks man..
So how does a car get wrecked in the parking lot of a Discount Tire?
(always amazes me how many cars get wrecked on "test drives" when you go in for something simple like a tire rotation or oil change)

your right matt, but honestly i'm not sure i really want to know what happened. they said the asst. manager was driving the car and forgot that it was so low and ran over a curb pulling the car to the front. now i wasn't there waiting in the lobby so i really don't know. The Moral of the Story: if your getting work done to your car, STAY THERE and watch them like a HAWK. they might get annoyed but its your car not their's.

Well the main two are:

1) I have never had a set of tires that balanced properly from them. I am pretty sure they buy "b" grade tires.

2) Every time I went in for a tire rotate and/or balance it took them 3 hours.
