Car Show Info and signup!

Now that we've got the classes set and trophies are ordered, here's the start of the signup sheet for the show.

Show entry will be $30, which will include a Maxus 2005 T-shirt and the trophies to the winners. (You will pay at the event to someone from Trophy. They will handle the $$ since they're paying for everything).

Classes will be:
Show
Performance
Daily Driver

There will be trophies for First through Third place in each of those classes, as well as a "Dealer's Choice" and a "People's Choice" trophy.
The Dealer's Choice trophy will be awarded based purely on the car that Trophy likes the best. No judging involved, no scores, nada.
The People's Choice trophy will be voted on by all of the people attending the show. each attendee will be given 1 (one) "ballot card" and will write down the number on the car they like the best. it's thrown into a basket and tallied up at the end of the day. the one with the most votes gets the trophy. easy enough.

Here's a link to the judging criteria and scoresheets so that you can see what we're judging on:
http://mattblehm.com/maxus/judging_criteria.doc

these are basically the same rules we use for the ZCCA shows that I judge when the local Z clubs hold car shows. I have modified them some to reflect the different nature of our cars though.
You can see the ZCCA rules here for comparison:
http://www.zcca.org/downloads/JudgingRules_rev2002.pdf

So let's see who's entering!!

Matt.. I am not sure what would be best for my vehicle.. I am tossing between the show/daily driver class (since I do drive my vehicle everyday).. Any recommendations?

I told you already, Dell sells computers, not virility solutions. Besides, the car show is for car performance, not personal, so don't sweat it.

What does hail damage have to do with performance?
Aerodynamics?

What is the criteria for entry into the 3 classes listed? In other words, how do we determine which class we should enter?

Just my guess, but:

Show = Cleanliness, Shine, Mods beyond normal daily driver, garage baby.
Performance = Self explanatory
Daily Driver = Cleanliness and Shine but the workhorse of your garage.

Matt. I'll work on the judginf stuff for this today. I'll get with you, and then I think it would be fair to post the stuff here so that everyone knows what to expect. What do you think?

Yes, that's what I'm planning on doing. I was hoping to have time to do it before now, but gotta take care of business first. just got back from shipping off another 15 boxes and I'm caught up on sales for the week, so I'm dedicating the rest of the week to finishing up the details on Maxus.

Max88q, yes there will be designated parking for the Maxus cars that aren't in the show.

Forgot to add my name to the list. After looking at that scoring sheet I am just a little bit nervous. I dont think I have a snowballs chance, but I want to showcase my VQ35 swap.

meanbean, we'll probably cut off registration at 12pm or so. should give plenty of time to get there, get entered, and get the cars ready to go.

dubbya, don't worry too much about it. it's all for fun and you'd be surprised what cars end up on the top! with this judging, it's very fair so those that have a car with a few mods and very clean can keep up with a dirty car that's got tons of mods.
