We should be able to allow a 'free for all' grudge racing class where we can pair people up. But those runs won't count for the official heads up classes.

But in the organized heads up classes, pairings will be randomly chosen or it may be dependent on your time trial qualifying runs. (ie, fastest car during qualifications gets paired up with slowest car) We may use that kind of ladder system.

Also, there will be time trial runs prior to the start of eliminations. Usually, you get at least 2-3 qualifying runs before eliminations. Depending on the time allotted, you may get more qualifying runs.

But all that will be planned in the months to come. And the rules and class qualifications will be very clear prior to registration.

I can do the 3rd week in June. I'll bring extra tires for any occasion. I'll keep an eye out for firm dates.

cool. Will non-Maxima and non-Nissan cars be allowed on the racing events? Like Cutler, Irish44j, etc? Or people that us members know who are not maxima.org members? I've got a friend with a Probe that might like to come and his car is something I know he'd like to put on the track.. just wondering if that would be OK.

We haven't worked that out quite yet. But we'll know for sure in the coming few months.

Alright I might go for this one. Don't know what the status of my car will be in June but it should be up and running by then.

I will go if there is a road course event planned but we all know it's hard to get anything like that going for Maxus. Don't get me wrong I like to meet Org people from other regions and check out new (to me) places. But I don't like hanging out for a few days with no real activities.

My suggestion for a road course event is to run with SCDA at the brand new New Jersey Motorsports park. They have a two day event planned on 6/22 and 6/23 at NJMP. The park is located in southern Jersey 20 miles west of Atlantic City. So if Maxus is in DC or MD it will be close to NJMP.

The only downside is the cost, it will be about $300 per day to run on this track with SCDA. However newbies get an instructor for the day and you don't have to do cone or corner work. The event will go on with or without the Org so if we can get a few Maximas signed up that's fine by me.

Regardless of what everyone else wants to do, if Maxus falls around this time I will try to attend both events as I attend alot of SCDA events in New England. It would give me a good excuse to drive that far to check out NJMP and maybe Atlantic City.

Yeah, that might be optimistic. I was at Maxus '08, and while it was a good turnout, it wasn't close to 70.
Xander did a good job of organizing it, as well. I hope that continues for this year. Hopefully this year's organizers have contacted him for some in-review and feedback comments to make the job even smoother for '09.

If I don't see 200+ Maximas at this year's Maxus, it will be a complete failure.

If a one day NWP Engineering BBQ Meet in the DC area can bring in 100 Maximas even on a rainy day, then I'm sure we'll set new records.

We hope to post some official information just after the new year. Once you guys see what we are working on, I promise you that you will be excited!

I don't think I will be attending Maxus this year. It would cost me way to much since I would drive my supra.

To the organizers let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Not sure if I'll make the trip out. I had promised myself that if any Maxus was 1000 miles or less that I'd be there, so that means I'd be there.

Getting time off work is no problem, just waiting for the specific dates and activities.

BTW - anybody from the midwest/Chicago area planning on being there?

Well Will, I suppose if you made it to Chicago, I could make it to the DC area.
The food idea sounds great! What was it that we are NOT going to try? That thing that the waitress couldn't explain?

I might attend, but I won't in the Maxima, because by that time I will no longer have one. I maybe in my 240 or in my new ride.

We are VERY close to releasing the official dates and location of Maxus 09. We are just finalizing the contracts for the track and hotel. Once we know those are 100% set in stone, then we will release the information.

We plan to release this information within the coming few days.

Aaron does the track you are considering allow camping? Hotel costs make the trip a lot more expensive.

Having camping at the track means not having to pack everything up, change tires etc etc, a lot of work if its a 2 day event and you come on fri.

I do not believe the track allows on-site camping. But we will bring that up during the meeting.

There are several campgrounds within a 20 mile radius though. But I understand about the convenience of spending the night before tinkering with your car at the facility.

The track event is only expected to be a large one day event. But Maxus will be over the entire weekend.

WOW this sounds like a blast, but DC? I live in Reno, NV and while that only like 2600 miles (one way) i dont think i could take off enough time to Drive to the event, attend AND drive back.

Anyone one of a good auto transport company? I might be able to send my car ahead and fly out to meet up and drive back?!?

That would be awesome! This year's Maxus will definitely be so monumental that some people are going to fly into town or drive over 1500 miles to be there.

And I'm sure we will have several spots for the Farthest Traveled award.

We are still in the process of finalizing all the official event information. So stay tuned! I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

I'm pretty sure they do NOT allow camping overnight. And won't for insurance reasons!!!

Again there are State Parks in the area, an theres also a Maryland welcome station / rest stop close by and there are other low budget motels in the area. Also many members are sharing rooms to reduce cost. Maybe some maxima.org members can host out a towners for a night or 2 also. I have 4 friends from NYC staying with me!!!
