OK thats all. Maxsapphire took most of the video and pics since I was racing and I must say she did a pretty good job. Her car didnt make it so I let her race mine a couple of times which I later found out was a no no lol but we had fun.

Thanks AJ for all the pics and footage!
I ran several 12.7s and 12.8s with 108mph trap speed all day long. I ended up winning the All Motor Maxima Unlimited class by beating Jime in the finals by only 8 THOUSANDTHS of a second! Now that was a TIGHT race!

Hmmmm... but where was the rest of your car ?
What's it like to race with the Godfather of Maxima drag racing? Did he make you a deal you couldn't refuse? Heh....
Great event - well done by Aaron and all the others.

Jim's car is lighter than mine I believe. He has his dash in place with some lightweight carpet. I just ripped out half my dash panels and all the OEM carpet. I haven't touched any of my door panels, door braces, hood and trunk lid braces, etc. I haven't done Lexan windows either. So I still have a LOT of weight reduction left to do to make this car faster. That's what Jim says every time he sees my car. Just how close to stock it really is as far as weight reduction. I will put carpet and a full dash back in my car one day. It's only going to add about 30 lbs.
But, it was a BLAST to race against the world's fastest Maxima! I hope he had as much fun as I did. And he certainly deserved to win the Quick 8. He should have sprayed nitrous and whooped me in the Quick 8 finals when we rematched for another race. But, instead of running another 11 second nitrous pass, he kept his bottle out and raced me NA for a 2nd time. He redeemed himself on that race to go home with the Quick 8 title. So, we were locked dead even on both races pretty much when racing All Motor. It made for a great show! I won the All Motor Maxima Unlimited race against him and he beat me in the Quick 8. But, just the fact that Jim decided to race me NA during the Quick 8 finals, shows you what kind of guy Jim is... a true competitor and genuine guy. He'd rather have a little competition rather than just blowing away a fellow Maxima enthusiast.
I had a lot of fun, even though organizing and running MAXUS 09 was a LOT of hard work. I couldn't have done it without the help of Alicious, Redmax, and my NWP help, Dadra and SurraTT. And thanks to everyone else that worked for FREE throughout the weekend to help make things run smoothly. I can't possibly list them all. But we had a ton of extra help from several members on this forum. At MIR, we had our own tech inspector DA-MAX, guys directing traffic, Kevin Goodwin running the Dyno all day, and Irish44j and his team of judges running the Car Show. Thanks to Chernmax for organizing and running a very successful Scenic Cruise. Maybe the largest in history. There are so many others that helped us out all through the weekend with various tasks. Thank you for all your support to make MAXUS 09 the largest Maxima enthusiast event in history! I'm sure MAXUS 2010 (or MAXUS X) in NY/NJ will be just as awesome!

This is amazing news! I was all set to make it to Maxus this year but my car suddenly had problems this past week and there was no way it was ready for that long of a drive. I thought I would never be able to go a Maxus now but its great to hear next yr it will be in the NJ/NY area. Maybe it will be close to E-town?

Does anybody happen to have any video of me racing other than what 93altima posted? I am just trying to compile as many videos as possible for NWP Engineering.
I have the white 92 Maxima that was racing in the NA Maxima Unlimited class.

I do. I tried posting earlier but the .org crashed. I don't have the internet at my house but the install is scheduled for this Friday so maybe early next week I can figure out how to put them online. The camera is new to me so I have only used it one time and that was this past weekend. I know I have a few of your runs but I don't remember exactly which ones, but I was filiming in HD so hopefully they will come out nice.

16.51 was my best ET, and my best trap (on some other run) was 84.5.... i'm just amazed that i wasn't the slowest car to race, because i'm the only VG that raced. The other 3rd Gens were a n/a VE Auto (PB of 16.65ish), brad's turbo VE-5, and Aaron's 3.5L.

mmg23max raced his 93 Maxima VQ35, but he had clutch and tuning issues. He'll be back next year!

my actual best MPH was 83.8 - the 84mph was AM_Blackmax (black VE auto) when we ran heads-up with each other. he holeshotted me on our run, though my ET was .08 faster. my PB was about a tenth better than his was, despite his 1mph faster trap.

did you weigh your car on the track scales? for comparison, my non-weight-reduced iron-block 3rd gen weighed in at 3060lb w/o driver on saturday.
yeah, the drag event was a blast. i'd love to do it again. i know alot of people like road racing too, but there's alot less to go wrong with drag racing, plus there's nothing like crossing the finish line side-by-side when racing your friends heads-up.

I sure hope next year's MAXUS has a Drag Showdown. Cause I will be building my car specifically for that event looking to be the single fastest car there.
I can't believe how much fun MAXUS 09 was! I've never had close to this much fun before at any Maxima meet. And I was insanely busy all weekend long helping the guys make sure things ran smoothly.
Oh, and I didn't get a chance to weigh my car. It was the last thing on my mind. I didn't eat a single thing all day long and I was too busy working on my car all day. I am guessing it's around 2850 with driver.
