houston would be fine by me honestly. The main reason I had said Nashville location (like distance wise from larger concentrations of owners (NE, texas area, etc). There are a ton of NE peeps that are very active and come out to these events but may be thrown off at Houston (LONG drive).

Im all down for Houston though, Aaron has a really good layout. If the people want Houston let it be Houston.

Two things I can not stress enough, ONE person can not run this alone. And the team/group in charge MUST have their **** together (team work, communication, etc, etc).

Also, I offer any help with anything. Im pretty sure Amir wll gladly help out with planning (probably not attending if in Houston though [he doesnt drive a max]).

Again, I think that's a moot (sp?) point, how big was maxus 2010 again? Yeah....

Just because the NE members post the most doesn't mean you'll get the most from the crowd.

houston for me is way too far to road trip to. Tennessee is right on point. have close family in Chattanooga so i could justify that as a family trip on top of everything. I happen to like TEN... don't know about opryland...looks...ostentatious and gaudy lol

I'm liking the Houston idea. It will be a long drive, but I think I can make it work.

I've mulled around with the idea of an Autocross, this could help me cut cost down because after some quick discussion as long as you're not paying a staff there's some good $$$$ to be made in it because I will probably make the AutoX open to a few local forums here.....

Right now with the current verbal "Ok's" on sponsors Maxus 2012 Houston Packages are at 160, 180 and 200, I want to get that down to 140, 160, 180 or lower... Either I find one or two more sponsors (working on that part) and I will keep thinking of ways to keep cost down... AutoX seems to be a Viable one though.

Thoughts?

Works for me, I just wish it closes at a muuuch sooner date, by May I would have already presented business plans to the sponsoring companies and collected their money and signed some papers by then....

late May for the pole to close is too late. The pole needs to close in a few months (January or February). Most tracks want a few months of notice to rent out a track for a day on the weekend and usually a down payment of somesort. And people will need time to figure out how much money they are going to need and stuff.

I was the only NE member crazy enough to make the drive to Maxus when it was in Texas, twice. If there is a road course event I don't mind the driving. If I was to go again I might be able to get a couple of people to come along, maybe...

There will not be a road course event associated with Maxus (unless there is extremely overwhelming interest in it).

The best I can do is plan Maxus after a Red-Meat Race-Fuel day (Thursday) @ MSR where you can get some dirt cheap track time ($75 for the day).

You can get some "course" time @ Track 21 those go karts go faaazzzzzz

I'm with Joe. I probably wouldn't want to make the drive unless there was a road course or auto-x event waiting for me in Texas

Im in for Nashville. (If I havent been stationed in TX by the time this rolls around) Im from Texas but wouldnt like to go to Houston. Too congested, everything feels spread out, alot of the highways and roads would tear up suspensions(but what city wouldn't), and if there was a cruise too many idiot drivers. Just my .02 cents.

Any updates on this? The domain hasn't even been registered yet.

Car clubs need to begin planning for the event soon to bring their members out.

February... still not a single update.

Being that Maxus 2011 didn't happen and that it was a major disappointment to the Maxima community I'm sure many of us are curious as to what has been organized so far and what is left.

Major props to you guys for stepping up but I think it would be ideal that you at least let everyone know how things are going in order to restore the faith in us of a Maxus actually happening this year.

Edit:

To satisfy you guys I will update you with pointless updates every week, k?

Domain has been registered before you even said anything about it, you just chose to speak without doing any investigation.

Website has been designed, IB offered to pay for it, i'm waiting on it, not holding it up any longer I'll bite the bullet on it Monday.

Also, I have my minions researching on info about having a DBA for Maxus to start a bank account for Maxus too (for those few people who still write checks, I want to be able to deposit checks written out to maxus ) on that day so I can start taking hotel payments that way I make sure to lock in the awesome rate I got for you guys in July.

^^if you want you could cruise down to nashville and ride to houston with me.

I dropped out, mostly for medical reasons (I had 4 brain surgeries in 2011, with 3 of them being in Oct-Dec)

Sounds like you need new roommates.

And if you can't pony up $200 plus gas, then I suggest you hitch a ride with local orgers and split the cost, then it'd be HELLA cheap
