Boring?

I love the understated look. Like a Mercedes Benz S600. The only thing telling you about its awesome power is the unassuming badge. Total sweetness IMO
Your I35 pulls that off rather well, too.
And that poor I30 in front of you, headlights totally aimed out of whack

Looking good man, awesome read. I should've kept my 4 th Gens manifolds before sending it to junkyard. Wife made me get rid of it. There are alot of 4 th gens at the jy anyway shouldn't have a prob with finding them. Right now im trying to track this starting prob with the 03. Next is spark plugs and coil check hopefully can get a handle on it.

I don't think I updated the thread with this, but I installed a G35 muffler on what's essentially a straight pipe after the OBX headers.

I'm going to add the final piece to the puzzle and get the G35/350z/FX35 resonator to complete the audio experience.

Under light load the sound is exactly what I wanted, that G/FX/z33 exhaust note, but heavy load in the midrange is not the sound I wanted (Sounds like a test/straight piped V6), WOT is awesome on the outside as it is in the cabin, maybe even better just because the more throttle you give it the louder the exhaust gets, and it just fits perfect with the whole theme of the car, just cruising around it's another innocuous I35, then hit WOT and all hell just breaks loose

For comparison, under heavy load in cabin and exterior wise this is louder than the.... OBX headers+2.5 Test Pipe+Cattman 3" setups I've done in the past, but quieter in cabin while driving like an old lady.

I've got a big monitor, but there's no way those pictures are fitting on it Resize!

I just read your write up about the XTD flywheel, very interesting. I wasn't even aware there was another option compared to the Fidanza. I still can't decide if it's worth the time and effort to install one. Remind us, what clutch are you on?

I would like to hear some videos of your exhaust, it sounds like you're shooting for what I'm shooting for- 350Z/G35 sound. I think I'm pretty close with:
Cattman headers, resonated test pipe, resonated 2.5" Budget b-pipe, and G35 sedan muffler. There are still a few sounds it occasionally makes that bug me, but overall I love it. I'm just waiting to see if they guys who tune my Nistune ECU are going to be able to dump a little fuel on shifts so it burps when I let off/shift

EDIT- Why TF is there an Ebay link when I type flywheel that can't be deleted?

-You can use any VQ35DE flywheel you want, but buyer beware, you did see the end results correct???
-OEM 02-06 Altima V6 Pressure plate + OEM 03-05 350z Disc.

-The dirty is down I'm attempting a motor rebuild before Nismo Fiesta, but I am going to put on a 350z exhaust mid pipe (or B-pipe, however you wanna call it) whenever I have a free day to fully complete the exhaust.

I need to remake the videos with the SAME camera I've used on all of my other exhaust vids.

Because ads?

Newb! You got a good locking diff don't you? Mister I take corners. If not you may have to do a 6mt swap, the feeling is insane having two wheels pull the car around after an apex.

I used the ebay lighweight flywheel in the white nightmare, got a deal on it like 190 shipped IIRC, made an offer to the seller. Worked for me and it's next owner. Didn't notice an insane difference, just a little thing like bushings ya know?

No vids? odd. I guess a direct link to my channel then. They're the last uploads.

Sold the 2.5" g35 setup.

Half of the 3" exhaust components ordered. I'm fabricating it from the ground up, using every inch available to keep the car absolutely quiet. Pictures and more info will be copied from my blog in here. Should arrive by the end of the week.

Also up my sleeve is what I call "the new GAB mod, now with more ghetto"

Again keep your peepers on aackshuns garage.

This is it... The largest Resonator that can go on a 5th gen (without removing the crossbar in the middle of the car) [Also that's a 90 degree merrrlll bend pipe that I ordered from summit attached to it, it doesn't come with the pipe].

Supposedly it's reversible without any negative effects on performance, just sound, will make vids of everything of course.

There wasn't any noticeable sound difference when I had that crappy eBay test pipe/resonator you got there. Now this on the other hand gets two thumbs up:

I was looking at the chitty construction of it, and came to the same conclustion... But it's the only 3" test pipe I have and it was $20... Soooo

I really wanted to test the limits and get the biggest mf'r I could fit, but based on my hours of intensive youtube research , The Hushpower Pro would do an excellent job and have plenty of room for whatever, but the Jones was less than half the cost, I don't mind giving it a shot. If I don't like it even after putting another muffler on, I'll get the Hushpower.

And this just in! The Jones 26.5 Muffler fits! Car shoulda came with it from factory That rear exhaust brace had to go, but if one was pseudo-determined they could make it work.

Moar loud noises

Went to the track....

Nothing impressive to report. Videos and times will be on my youtube, going again for srz @ IFO this Sunday.

But launching a 3.5 is something else, and the "Less is more" approach is totally relevant, WOT seems not to be needed in 1st gear unless you're running something substantial up front [My opinion on 255/40 18 Continental Extremes]. Even though I'm still un-tuned the TQ this thing puts out and much more violent than any 3.0 setup I've had, 3.0's were predictable and not touchy feely.... 3.5 is the exact opposite.
