New to what is looking to be an awesome ride
So hello everyone, I'm new to Maxima ownership. Getting rid of the 'ol s-10 to buy a '03 Maxima SE. After a year at Nissan our master tech came across this one as a 'mechanic special' They couldnt pay for the repairs, so he bought it off them, now ill buy if from him haha. Fixed of course, Low oil lead to a broken timing chain guide. But internally everything is sound, can even still see the factory cross-hatch on the cylinders! But in any case we've already replaced the piston with ones from a '12 and split the head gaskets just to give it a little more squeeze After that everything gets put back together as it should be. Unfortunately no extra funds for more internal mods. From what i've read these cars are something awesome. And from ones I've driven while working here I cant wait. Though I havent gotten to drive a 6-speed Max yet.
I only have one question, what the split for a 5th gen and 5.5? I've seen it mentioned multple times looking through the forum but havent seen it defined so I can tell what I've got. Date-wise its an '02 but the vin puts it an '03 model. Thanks in advance
