First time at the track...didn't do so well

Ran at e-town nj today for the first time. What can I say I suck.

I just couldn't hook up for some reason. Did a 2.5krpm drop with 29lbs of tire pressure. Spun through first and left it in third at the end. I think that I should have lowered the initial rpm to around 2.2k. Next time...in march:mad:

Try to feather the clutch next time...specially on street tires, dont just drop it from 2.5k....and then gradually get into it. That resulted in a 2.29 60' for me with just stillen intake on my 99 sel 5spd.

I've heard and read ppl say/type that there's a lot more traction at the track so I figured I'd drop it 2.5k, but I guess it all depends on the tires. Too bad they only give you 3 runs.

Dropping the clutch on street tires isn't usually the best way of getting good launches. Some practice at feathering the clutch will go a long way.

Plus, I had to wait atleast an hour between each run. There were atleast 100 cars there. Doesn't feathering the clutch wear it out faster?

bring your tire pressure down between 20 and 23 :D

Unfortunatly, I have to wait until the next season to try all these things out:bawling: The MPH tell me that I should be in the low 15's if I just get a good launch.

Hey sup man, I saw your car in the pits, but no driver. I was the only I30 there so not hard to miss. There was actually an E320 there. Everyone else brought out the 5.0
My best time yesterday was a 15.60 but couldn't get traction off the line.

Hey, I saw your I30 too with no driver:) I like the tint very much. I saw you run your car did pretty good. Did you lower your tire pressure? Was this your first run?

By the way, what happend to all the ppl from the .org that said they were going to be there? I was looking for a bunch of maxis but couldn't stop any. However, ppl said that there were a couple there.:gotme:

I think I saw one other Max, a black 95-96 GXE? I left tires alone, kept spare and everthing in trunk. As the weather got colder, my times improved. Went from 15.9 to 15.6x to 15.60. Yeah the tint is my favorite mod so far. :) Can't wait till March
