what's the point of...
having your revs higher than idle before 5spd launch. How is it different from not meshing the gas pedal all the way down as you release the clutch quickly? what I don't understand is if at idle rpm's i have enough torque to spin my tires, how is getting higher on rpm band makes the situation better?

ok...Your questions are a bit fuzzy. Heres my technique..
-Rev to about 2800 (ONLY at the track)...about 2300 on the street -Slip the clutch -make sure the tires are gripping and floor it Seems easy, but you have to get a feel for the track or surface your on.. Eric |
Get better tires.

basicly what I am asking is what's the benefit of higher rpm's launches?
as far as my tires, I think they are pretty good (potenza 950 with 10000 miles on it, been rotated once) |
More power when you launch at higher RPM, but your tires will prolly spin which is no good...but people get better 60s launching below 2k...I HAVE NO IDEA what is best. I do what I feel is the best for me. You need to figure out what works the best for you. With my ACT I rev it to 3k rpm and then when I go the clutch grabs so hard I prolly leave the line at about 2200 rpm.

So basicly people rev up to better control the torque as they launch?
