do you think i can hit 15.4's

I ran a 16.1 with a bad knock sensor bad o2 and a full tank of gas. well 3/4 full of 89 octane. now i fixed those added a k&n hacked the airbox. y pipe, dr mod and am runnng 91 octane regularly now. a and i changed out my plugs and did a whole tune up it was running pretty rough now it runs smooth. anyways do u think i can get 15.4s or alteast 15.5? im an auto btw. and i coudlnt even break my tired loose and now they break loose untill about 2500ish.

lower/mid 15's is very possible in an auto with an intake and y-pipe

The first time i went to the track i was pretty much in the same situation as you. I added pretty much the same mods you did except i had a pulley (which didnt seem to do much). I ended up losing over a second and gained 6 mph

maximaintheface Mar 18, 2005 09:23 AM

cool. it seems to be alot faster now. cant wiat to take it to the track. thanks for the input

the lame stuff:

bad knock sensor
bad o2
3/4 tank of gas
89 octane

i tell you , times are effected by so many things: elevation, temps, humidity, weight of vehicle, track, track prep, driver skill, etc, etc, etc ......>

since you have the el lameo sorrio stuff fixed, your et should be much lower, i cant say by how much though.

heres something interesting, you said you ran the car with 3/4 tank. here is a little weight chart to see the differences in weight a full tank has vs a 1/4 tank:

1/4 Tank: 38.625 lbs
1/2 Tank: 77.25 lbs
3/4 Tank: 115.87 lbs

if the only thing you did was to burn out the gas down to a 1/4 of a tank and all things the same. you could easily expect a 16.0 that day or close to it.

while this may still be up for debate, i say run 93 ! report in the next time you make a few passes and dont wait for summer, or it will be a bummer :goofy:

maximaintheface Mar 20, 2005 01:57 AM

it was summet when i ran 89 degreese outside . i dont rember humidity and at sears point u have like 50 mph winds going the posite way you are i dont know how much that effects or if it does anything .

maximaintheface Mar 20, 2005 01:09 PM

so what would you guys think it will take to run high 14's

Here's what I would do.

Stop asking ?'s, work some overtime to get extra cash for a major tune-up & more mods (secifically vi + ECU, though it's been donw w/o these mods), use the right fuel, and put your car on a diet.

Ceasars Chariot Mar 21, 2005 12:35 PM

ecu upgrade, 00vi, lightweight rims, weight reduction, 93 octane, sticky tires, and on rims i would find a super light 15 inch rim
