Thats just hillarious!

Do you think everything just broke or was not tightened down when the rearend was installed?

Thetailwind Jan 4, 2008 02:56 PM

American Muscle vs. Asian Engineering. I choose the latter.

I've seen this happen at a local track here. The car was doing about 90mph though.

I've been gone from the org for a while, is this the same Scottwax over on Autopia?

96blkonblkse Jan 5, 2008 07:45 PM

haha wow thats scary. Well i use to do highschool drag racing, i was actually the main driver for our 1980 Malibu which had a built 355. One time at the track one of the other schools charger..the wheel just about fell off going down the track, luckily it stayed on till he pulled off after the track then it just fell off and did quite a bit of damage to the drum on that side lol. Thats the problem when you have high school kids that dont know much about cars working on cars that do 100+ mph down the track.

this guy needs a new tech though, for that to happen is just scary, i guess whoever teched that car didnt do a very good job lol, then again tech at most tracks is check to the battery lol.

00SEMAX19 Jan 5, 2008 09:08 PM

Thats all they do at my track is check the Battery.

tedo007 Jan 8, 2008 12:14 PM

My geuss is that there was a weak point somewhere in the rubber, bolts, or brackets for the mount and once that let loose everything else just snapped like butter. That thing had some mean slicks & a pretty crazy blower.

What does that have to do with anything? your FWD maxima can't make "enough power to rip the rear end out of the car"

So that is our goal? Hmm. I'll keep adding more nitrous until that happens. Thanks. :)
