Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials - worth it or not?

Wanted to get your opinions on these tires:
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-3780R/

Are they worth the money. How do they hook up?
I am putting them on 18" Volk Track wheels. I was also wondering if the 245s will rub or not.
Should I not waste my time and just get these?
http://www.summitracing.com/search/b...c&autoview=SKU

I wanted step down to 17" but got a great deal on the 18" Rays (had to get something that would clear BBK).

Anyway, thank for all your help!! :)

They are nice tires for sure!

Although running an 18" wheel and hooking don't go in the same sentence.

I would suggest looking for something to fit 17's, but since thats as small as you say you can go, then you should weigh your tire choices carefully. The ET street is a real good tire and even on the 18 will be better than some DR's on the 17. It all depends on the tires you find

I am seriously debating getting the MTs. Let me know if you run yours soon.

What are your times on street tires? Just wondering.

2,200'
Hot as ****. Always

Gemner 10-22-2009 03:54 PM

Lol. 2200' is ridiculous, your DA is probably never lower than 3000'. 15s pass is probably at least 1s faster with DA correction

hmm... good tires, but the BBK plays a tad of disadvantage, goodluck though, i'd get em

Nealoc187 10-22-2009 06:47 PM

Well you won't get a better tire in that diameter so if you're stuck with 17s or 18s then you might as well get them.

rroderiques77 10-23-2009 03:17 PM

Will the 245s rub on the front?

Why does the BBK play a disadvantage? Because of my choice in rim diameter?

well yes, but also weight... lightweight 16's wouldve been a plus though

Yeah. My Track 18s weigh 18lbs. I am sure; however, that 16" tires are somewhat lighter that 18" with also more sidewall.

Dude, I am almost tempted to swap my OEM brake set-up back on only for racing purposes. It's not that much work. But a little PITA to do it every couple of weeks.
