Hi there from Auburn,Wash. Lane here with my first Maxima (87se)enjoying it to the max fer sure.
I just got it friday and one problem i see is with the shock switch.

simptom: when I switch from n to either s or f the 2 unswitched lights flash. The manual says this is an abnormality so can someone tell me what needs to be done.

Thanks for your help. Lane

Check the following:
1.) The connectors at each of the strut towers. One of the connectors at the strut may be disconnected.
2.) One of the struts may have a electrical problem inside the strut. Only fix is to replace the strut in pairs.
3.) The struts may have just gone bad. The electronic adjustable struts are very expensive.

An alternative is to purchase a non-adjustable change over kit from Tokico - Part Number CK101... the kit ran about $600 when I purchased this kit.
The kit basically takes out the electronics out of the picture. The kit contains parts to change the rear struts over to an GXE or non-adjustable style set-up. The struts that come with the kit are awesome. The front struts need no modification....but this kit makes it a package deal...to change it all over. Note: The rear mod parts are factory Nissan parts.

Also, you may want to purchase four front coil rubber insulators while you have the coil off the strut. The insulator help to resolve that annoying clunk clunk sound when you go over bumps. Check with your dealer's parts dept-tell them it may not come up on there catalog...it's a updated part-check for service dept. TSB's.

Good Luck
