Should I or shouldn't I?
I'm in the market for a second car. I just sold my truck that I no longer needed. I stumbled across this: http://gpsmotors.com/listings.php?ma...=Maxima&id=403
What would be a good offer for this car, and should I even consider it? If anyone else is interested in looking at it feel free. |
Forgot to ask...For those that own these cars are parts incredibly hard to find in order to keep these cars on the road?
|
looks clean, i would go for it. nearly the same VG30E as 3rd gens and such so parts shouldnt be a problem. if you want a 2nd gen i would get that one, looks about as clean as it gets
|
vg33e was in a pathfinder and exteras until 2004 i think so parts are allways available
but 60k for about 3k not bad |
one thing just contact the guy and ask when and if the timing belt has ever been done, if it needs doing and you want to get someone else to do it, youre looking at over $1000 to get the engine pulled, and do the timing belt, water pump, crank angle sensor, thermostat, tensioner pulley, etc. those parts alone are only around $100 but youre just getting raped for the labour of pulling a engine etc

its easier pulling the engine though and you can check other stuff at the same time

the engine doesn't need to be pulled to do that stuff, in fact most of it can be done all at once since you have to go past most of it to do the timing belt, except the crank angle sensor which is in the distributor. All that is simple just takes time to get all the little stuff out of the way.
yeah i wouldnt pull the engine unless the motor mounts are bad, then itl justify it, otherwise naaaah do it with it still in, nothing really to replace besides those things at 60k if its auto then change the fluid. |
Remember, cars are like women, looks can be deceiving.
