Aftermarket CD player Install

Im trying to install an aftermarket cd player in my 84 maxima but I havent been able to locate a wiring harness. Does anyone hav a wiring diagram or can you help me with how to get around this road block. Thinking of using wires off factory radio as a wiring harness but i need to know what wires are what???

I would like to know this as well. I have an 84 too.

****can the old, run all new, what I did in my '87. Speaker wire is crappy 20GA, step up to 16GA, plus I had to run the speakers to the amp, so a no-brainer. Only thing I kept was switched hot, constant hot (for the clock and presets), and the ground...

Still need diagrams?

I realize this is late, especially for BigDud, but I've installed CD/DVD players in both of mine, using existing harnesses for one of them. I even integrated the still-working tape deck with the new head unit (requires rear Aux port).

So if anyone's still interested I can post how I wired things.

One of the odd things I have noticed, not on my Maxima, but on my Grand Cherokee and my buddy's GMC Sierra, is OEMs using speaker level outputs to the amps as opposed to pre-amp outputs. I do a lot of marine stereo installs and NEVER run speaker level outputs...

Do you have any pictures. I'm wondering how you got an aftermarket stereo to fit? I don't think they make dash kits
