86SE Door Locks / Speaker
Not getting any sound from my front driver door speaker. I checked the voice warning module output and the audio was there. So will be removing the door panel to fix this and a problem with the driver door lock system. I remember locking all the doors by pushing down the driver door **** or using my key. That hasn’t worked in a long while. Can’t remember if using the key will unlock all the other doors or not. Using the key now only unlocks and locks the driver’s door. Need to know how the locks work using the key on the driver’s door. Should it unlock all the doors? 1986 SE Thanks Al

I have the 86 Wagon, but I believe it should be the same. My user's manual gives quite detailed instructions/ information of how the door locks should work; so if you have yours, take a look. Anyway, for my car, the behavior is:
* Driver's door LOCK (key or pushing **** down) locks all the doors.
* Driver's door UNlock (key or pulling **** up) unlocks only the driver's door; then we must press the armrest lock/unlock-all button to unlock the other doors.
* Armrest lock/unlock-all button locks or unlocks all EXCEPT driver's door.
* The outside touch keypad (don't know if SE has it) has a choice to unlock only driver's door or all doors, including driver's.
* For wagon, trunk is included/ treated as "other doors"; except that there is ALSO a dash switch solely for the trunk. Don't know how SE's trunk behaves.
* Summarizing: the armrest lock/unlock-all button is always only for "other" doors, not driver's. Driver's door (key/****) LOCK is for all, UNlock is for only driver's.
I am almost certain of all the above; forgive me if any mistakes; hopefully others will correct me if so.
