Don't complain
NEVER, NEVER, EVER, ever complain about working on your Maxima. EVER!! EVER EVER. Do you hear, and understand me?
These cars are easy as pie to work on. Very easy, I am thrilled at the engineers that designed these cars. I would kiss them! Everything on this car is straight forward. Having worked mostly on VW's, this is a god-send. The exhaut comes right down. No muss no fuss. The VW's on the other hand have stuff UNDER the exhaust, and you have to beat it just to get it off. The catalytic converter on the VW's are 6 bolts WITH nuts!! Two of which are on TOP of the cat!! It is a knuckle buster. This cat took all of 10 minutes MAX to get off! Y-pipe. Beautiful! 7 bolts, plus shrouding. All easy to get to. SIMPLE!. Anti-Sway bars. Easy as pie! A few bolts, once again easy to get to, and its all out. No need to remove the wheels, and other gobs of crap! All done under the car, without removing anything extra. From what I can also tell, after removing the wiring, the engine will pull right out. NOT like other front wheel drivbes I;ve worked on where the tranny MUST come off in the bay, then the engine can come out. DON"T EVER COMPLAIN ABOUT WORKING ON YOUR MAXIMA!! EVER!! |
we'll see what you're saying when you're replacing your VTC's :)

It's obvious you never tried to change the heater core... :)

rear injectors on a VE aren't any fun either
|
Ah, VTCs, heator core and water pump. Been there and done that. All a pain. I suggest if you have the motor out, do the water pump, maybe vtcs if you have the cash and certainly the exhaust manifold studs. Feel adventerous? Valve stem seals.

Re: Don't complain
all that you have explained seems simple as pie on most cars ive worked with.... its the actual motor work that is NOT simple as pie.

Re: Re: Don't complain
Oh yeah how about taking the rear windshield out and the quarter panel off(a lot of drilling and cutting). It isn't really hard but very time consuming.
I have about half of the spot welds drilled out of the parts car now but I am finished for the day...I am tired. |

Yes, sorry I was unclear, bu it is easier than alot of other cars I have worked on. From what I have done, and what I have looked at te car is easier than OTHER cars I have worked on. I am not saying I nodded my head head and POOF, it all came apart. Everyting is put in a LOGICAL place on the cars. I haven't had any times where I've said to myself "Obviously the engineers never work on their own cars", because it was so ridiculous. But of course I haven't dropped the engine yet. I am goig to replace the exhaust studs while the car is out. Since the car has been well taken care of (and only 59095 miles), my plan is to rebuild the VTC's on the transplant recepient, and leave these the way they are, then swap them out when the time comes. I am not sayng that any Tom, ****, or Harry can go under and start ripping the car apart, AND put it back together.

Hes right, dont complain. Untill youve worked on Any GERMAN car.
Vw, bmw, pure ****, everything is *** backwards and more difficult than necessary. Buddy forgot to mention the cv shafts on the vdubs, even the tranny, or the shift linkages on the vdubs. |
If only you didn't have to take out the back seat just to change the rear speakers..... But most of the other things I worked on so far on this car has been pretty straight forward. Changing bulbs are super simple and it's nice to have a transverse V6 where the rear spark plugs can be changed easily.
Anybody change the #3 spark plug on a VW Bug before? That was a job I hated. |
like this?
You mean don't complain like this?
Friggin .... stooopit! piece of shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnap!.. why the fuxxxxxxx won't you argh come argh out! Who the heCK put designed this big hunk of shnaper doodle... I ought to introduce hime to a knuckle sandwich.... dam fool! NO no no no no... I would never do that... because I let my mechanic, hahaha. |
