What i did..was took the stock airbox lid, and if u look inside it there is a bronze horn thing in there thats rivited to the airbox. I cut the rivits, took that piece(which bolts to the MAF) and cut the flare off of it, so it ends up being a 3" flange there for a cone filter. Looks good...dosnt look gettho..and allows any filter with a 3" hole to go on

thnks for the input. did you cut it with a saw? did you any special tools? and last did you use a 3" hose clamp to sicure the filter?

I used a hacksaw to cut the flare off...i just clamped it in a vise and cut it. Getting the rivits off was kinda a pain..i ended up bending the bronze piece doing it, but i just hammered it back flat and it was okay. No special tools really..just whatever u can use to get the rivits off :)
My filter came with a 3" clamp already on it i think. I actually am not positive my filter is 3" but its a Ractive cone filter and it fit perfectly. I think its a pretty standard size so a K&N should be the same.

i am planning to get a CAI so my adapter will probably be up for grabs. It's red. By the way, what do you think of my picture. After making that thing I have to say I do not like Photoshop 6

To get the rivets off without screwing up the flange use a drill and a drill bit that will not exceed the hole diameter and drill the rivets out. This is the easiest way to get these off. Make sure you drill the side with the flat beveled end.

I am looking for an adaptor to make my own pop charger. How much will you be selling it for?
