Maybe it's not the fuel injectors...this is long, sorry

Okay, I changed out the front 3 injectors but could not see the other 3. I guess they are UNDER the plenum. I don't understand what the problem is with the o-rings. Me and my dad had the 3 front injectors changed in less than 45 minutes. The hardest thing was pulling them out. But putting the new ones in were simple. All we did was set them in there, o-rings and all, then screwed them down tight. Worked fine, no leaks.

The write up that Bryan has on his site is for the VG. The VE does not have 11 bolts on the plenum. So far I only saw 6. Nubiannupe has a write up for the VE and once I get that I will change out the other 3.

One thing I have learned is that the VE30DE does NOT have 2 different injectors (blue or black dot). There is only one kind. I got mine from www.frautoparts.com for $83.95 a piece.

Anyway, the point of this post. After changing out those 3 injectors I am still getting the terrible vibrations and some putt-putt (not loud though) and hiss every now and then after accelerating. Maybe the other 3 are the ones that are so bad and making all of this happen. But if the injectors are not bad, what else could it be? Could it be that the fuel filter (changed jul 2001) is so dirty it's causing this? My dad thinks the box, which he forgot the name of it but knows it's some kind of sensor, between the plenum and the air filter has something to do with it. Can anyone help me out?

Sorry so long.

You must be talking about the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, dude. That MIGHT be the problem, based on what you've said thus far. It'll probably be a lot easier to change than the other 3 injectors. But it'll probably cost you more, too. MSRP is somewhere in the $300-$400 range, I think. I bought one about a year ago when I had a terrible amount of hesitation. Car wouldn't even go over 45 at one point.

Changed the MAF sensor, and I was A-ok. If you had a KNOWN good sensor that you could swap right quick (only 4 bolts and a clamp holding it on), you could pretty much eliminate one or the other.

Oh, and I'll email you a copy of my write-up, if that's ok...:)

Yes, please send it to me. I will let my dad know about that and see what he says. Thanks for the info.

Before you go spending alot of money, did you put some sort of grease or oil around the o-ring before you installed the injectors? I can just about guarantee that the o-rings are cracked and are leaking gas. Just my .02

The o-rings are fine, we even pulled 2 of them out just to make sure.

BTW: Cleaned out the intake/throttle body today. Also changed the fuel filter. Still no improvement. Taking my baby to the hospital tomorrow morning for a diagnosis. Will let you know what the problem turns out to be.

Hopefully this helps you - the problem is with your MAFS... the square box/connector situated just left of the air filter. In my case the connection to the sensor was loose, maybe there was even some wire breaks. I solved the problem by cleaning the connectors and properly reconnecting the sensor. Also I adjusted the wires by taping them together to avoid current interruptions. Since - drove hard to Lodi NJ and back to Brooklyn without an incident.

Well, took my baby to the mechanic and found several problems with it. I posted a new thread on it. The mechanic said it is not worth fixing anymore. He said he wouldn't put anymore money into it,not even a gallon of gas. One thing that I forgot to mention in the last post is that he said the computer needed to be replaced. Well, I guess I will be getting my Lexus GS 300 earlier than I thought I would.
