It's all James' fault

James had to start it all, and now look at what I spent hours doing.

(please excuse the photo quality, the shutter speed was on the wrong setting, but you still get the idea)

;) I like the way it looks a lot better now, and the blisters on my thumbs are nearly gone now.

got more pics? I've been thinking about doing this, but I'm wondering if the paint underneath will match:confused:

hehe, I wish mine came off that easy. My car is black and the last owner used some sort of silicone to keep the drivers one on, it is actually off my car right now, but I got a new one and I am putting it on soon.

It was not easy at all. I tried some 3M adhesive remover and it went so slow. I finally got one side done when I went out and tried Goo Gone next. It worked a lot better than the 3M. But I still spent at least 10-12 hours working on getting all of the adhesive off. I'll pick up a roll of film this week and show some close ups. For the most part the paint underneath is fine. There is one small part on the rear passenger door that looks a little faded. I'm gonna work on it some more and see if I can get the paint to look a little more fresh.

LOL gotta hate the blisters

Of all the stuff I've used 'Sticker Shock' by far works the best. You just spray it on and let it kinda soak for a few minutes (this is the key, if you get impatient it wont work) then scrape it off with a fingernail or rub it with a rag. All the adhesive just kinda crumbles off.

I still have to do my driver side on the 5spd (wow I'm lazy). Paint underneath the side I already did is absolutely flawless. Just makes me with the rest of my paint was flawless too.

Yeah, really noticeable with the white car isn't it?

Btw, this is also the thanks to James thread if I didn't mention above. Innovation should always be applauded. And thanks to Chris for having all those great pictures that convinced me it looks good on the white colored maxs.

I wonder how it looks on a pebble beige Max?

Do you have another preference for the name Chris? :)

My step dad likes to call them "five mile an hour bumpers"

No, he just wants to post twice as much. lol j/k

Les, if you can make it the drag strip this Thursday, I will be able to check out your removed moldings. Or atleast one of them if that's all you can get done by Thurs. You will probably convince me to do it too. Hope you can make it.

Me making it out on Thursday is sounding kinda ify right now. Gotta pick someone up at the airport at 7:50 instead of 7:00 :(

I'll come over and help you one Saturday to scrub that adhesive off if you want.
