Re: 93 max FSM

The factory service manual is about 3 inches thick. If there was a source to download the manual online, then it would be one huge file. I have never heard of our FSMs being online anywhere. But I have heard of a FSM being on a CD-ROM CD. But, I don't know where you could get one or if it's even a REAL FSM. Contact dmontzmax on the org about the FSM on a CD.

Check out eBay for the actual FSM. I found my used 92 FSM for $16, which is as low as it's gonna get. They usually go for about $55 brand new on eBay.

"FSM" is just an abbreviation that most people don't know. If you go to eBay and enter in "maxima manual" you will get many matches. Find the entry that says something like factory service manual. You don't want a regular aftermarket service manual made by Haynes or Chiltons. Hope this helps.

Will 93 or 94 FSM work for my 92 Max?

Does anyone know whether I can use a 93 or 94 FSM for my 92 Max? As far as I know there are no 'significant' changes between those years. I'm not sure if wiring diagrams are the same or not.

Thanks,
SG

I purchased two different manuals on CD. One was nothing more then a bunch of pdfs with 8 character names, no index, no search, nothing. It was about $20.

Then I purchased a Mitchell on Demand for 92 Max SE. This cost about $10 and appears to be the source for the pdfs on the first CD rom.

Both of these are better then nothing, but neither is anywhere near as useful as the real FSM. Mitchell on Demand is great for looking up specs, but the paper manual is much better to take out to the car.

BTW, great catch on the $16 FSM. I didn't want to wait and just paid the $60.

I use a 94 FSM for my 92. The only major difference is the A/C system. In 92 they still used R12, whereas in 93 on they switched over to R134a. Everything else is essentially the same.
