Getting noise when going down interstate and you punch the peddle and get up to 80 or 90 mph and it sounds as if there is an exhaust cut out. Car sounds if there is no muffler at all. Let off the gas and it immediately goes back to normal. Do these cars have an exhaust cut out or something? What would cause this? Speeds of 70 or 75 it does not do it just high speed.

the harder you punch the gas, and the higher the RPMs...the softer its gona sound. the intake will be louder. my muffler is the loudest at 2k - 2.5k RPM. so going like 70+ your tach will probly be at 2.7k or more.

well thats not the same for my car the higher the rpm were hte louder my exhaust would be. it would sound fine the lower the rpm were but after like 3000 or 3500 it would get very loud it was crazy. I guess thats Y I got a ticket for it.

interesting....mine is like Soul Fly's max. the higher my RPM, the softer my exhaust will be. By that point all you can hear is my engine. my magnaflow is loud from about 1500 to 2400. anything above that it's quiet.

My exhaust is just the same!! And another thing, my exhaust is really quiet when I first start out and my engine is starting to warm up. But, once it's totally warmed up, it's really loud? Does anyone else experience this?

Car has the stock exhaust from the factory. Just sounds like the exhaust by passes the muffler at high rpm's.

yep same here. my car's idle is quiet when it's cold. a bit louder when up to temp.
