GdOutMaxima Feb 6, 2003 04:27 PM

Hey Rey nice max man.. u suck tho lol jk but i had the same idea on doing the 200sx projectors conversion lol, i thought i would be really unique in doing that but oh well.. i guess ill have to come up with another idea lol. still a nice/clean max tho

REYMAX77 Feb 6, 2003 06:56 PM

THANKS!! yeah that 200sx conversion is looks like a nice time consumer and also fender work gonna have to deal with out my car for a lil while but its all gonna be all worth it. I want something that nobody has i dont wanna have bmw headlight like everybody its cool looking but i rather do something unique. Gdout you should try it too i think its gonna be off the hook with those projectors.

Dark Lord Bunny Feb 6, 2003 08:42 PM

I really hate those rims, not my taste. But eveything else on your ride is nice and clean, keep it up. Just one question tho...

What's with the off color bumper??? :p

doomtoo Feb 6, 2003 09:49 PM

I have a question too, what do you use to clean your car? It's very shiny. Mine isn't doing do hot even though I wash and wax it about once a week. Is there anything else you use to clean/help your paint?

Pit5Bull Feb 6, 2003 11:16 PM

very nice...

My buddy had a set of those rims on a Chrysler 300M, except they were dubz. Are those 18's?

Good looking ride, bruh. Good luck on the 200SX projector conversion.

WELL ALL I DO I WASH IT WITH PALMOLIVE EXTRA SOFT SOAP. THATS THE TRICK AFRIENDS OF MINE AT A CAR WASH SAYS ITS THE BEST AND IT DOESNT MESS YOUR PAINT UP. aLSO IT COULD BE THAT YOUR WAXING EVERY WEEK IS STRIPS THE PAINT LILTTLE BY LITTLE!THE BEST THING IS TO DO IT EVERY 2 MONTHS.
PIT YEAH THOSE ARE 18'S

Rey...I think your caps lock button might be broke...have your mechanic check it out :p but on the palmolive issue...it is harsher on your paint than anything...think about it...we use it to remove grease in the kitchen...so therefore, its pulling the wax and all off your car along with the dirt...might not be such a good idea to keep using that...I use Meguiars and love it...so give that a shot.

N34JZ Feb 7, 2003 11:49 AM

yeah dish soap is horrible, its a pain to wash it all off and its harsh on the paint, waxing the car will not strip off the paint, it helps to protect it, however if you wax it every week without taking it off your car probably has alot of wax on it and thats why it doesnt shine as much.

I use Gliptone's wash and glow for all the cars that I do, best stuff Ive seen, the mothers wash is pretty good too.

Chris91SE Feb 7, 2003 12:16 PM

yeah dish soap is only good when you want to REMOVE wax. Washing unprotected paint w/ it could be damaging. Also waxing every week is a waste of time and money. Spend the extra money on quality wax and do it right the first time.

I have quality wax, it's megiars. I don't know "that" much about the proper way to make a car shine, but one of the waxes I used to use (and I think I saw it off a website too) said that the more layers you use, the shinyer it gets.
My car gets kind of reflective(gold/champagne colored), but it has all these micro tiny scratched all over the place, and the paint has little dark spots in some places, but slight different shade on the hood. Not horribly noticable, but it kind of takes alot away from it's apperance, IMO.
What do you think would be best for getting the car up to almost "car room shine", but without repainting it?

wash it, compound it, wax it, and then spray it with cool water then dry that off.

REYMAX77 Feb 7, 2003 06:07 PM

well i usually get my friend he works at a body shop and he uses some type of grayish compound and he buffs it its leaves the paint looking like new...he gets it from some supplier but its 8oz bottle for $50. a little too expensive but the weird thing is that he doesnt eve know what it is. lol it just works.

its probably 3M I get my detailing stuff through a body shop too, the color depends on how abrasive the compound is (or at least thats how 3m does it)
but yeah the high quality stuff is $$$ Ive found that most of gliptone's products are very good,
