What's Wrong With My 92 GXE?!
 

Wassup you guys im back, I just have one question that is really bugging me. My rpm meter keeps jumping up and down from 2 to 1 to a little lower than 1. My engine is running rough and keeps shaking vibrating when the rpm jumps up and down. Someone told me it's the timing so I turned the distributor cap and it got a little better but still does it, someone else told me it sounds like a hole in 1 of the vacuum hoses, someone else told me it's the btc valve, someone else told me it's the fuel injectors. I just need some help, did anyone else have this trouble before. The car runs fine one second then it runs a little higher, than it goes lower like it is about to shut off, then it jumps back up. I just need some help with my problem, I am hoping it is simple and not hard to fix. Im up for all suggestions. Thanks

P.S.
I did a full tune up, changed all the spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, rotor,fuel filter,oil filter, changed the oil, and nothing changed. Also changed the whole exhaust system from the y-pipe all the way back thinking something was clogged.

i think it MIGHT be your injectot harnesses for your plugs (spark)

your maf sensor might be dirty. go to radio shack and buy some electric contact cleaner and spray it on the sensor. be careful with the sensor though. its a 4-500$ part if not more

i had the same problem...and 1 of my injectors gone bad...so check the injectors and find out which is dead.......and 1 thing....don't go 2 the dealership and ask 4 the injectors.......well maybe there in the states thier cheaper..but here in Canada......it's $1000.oo 4 all six ......:mad:
