Hi fellas, I have been hearing a lot about this trans-go kit and I was seriously considering it as a good mod. Not just for the performance, but also the longevity of the tranny itself. I know the kit comes with a bunch of replacement parts, but that all u really need to install it the VB part. Am I correct?? How hard is it to install this kit?? On the Trans-GO site they say that they sell a "Do it yourselfer" kit. How hard is it to install the kit?? How much will a shop charge me to install it??

Thanks a million,
ICE

I can't answer any of your questions because I haven't done it myself. I am seriously condsidering it as well just to prolong my tranny's life especially for the price of the kit. I have talked with GM owners that have used the kit and said they haven't had any problems with the kit at all. So far it seems like a good buy until someone tells us otherwise....

You know I'm in on it......

with all my previous tranny probs, I think this will be a $36 well spent! as long as I can find a decent "installer" I should have it in by mid/late February(hopefully!!), just waiting for those tax returns!

tranny-go?

never heard of this. What exactly is it, and how does it prolong your transmission? If it's $36 and I can put it in myself I would be interested also because it beats the $1500 for a new tranny. Very effective along with another tranny cooler?

Check it out.......

TransGo info what it prevents:
Falls out of gear at a stop when hot, delayed forward engagement, no 3rd after a 3-2 or 4-2 kickdown, 4-3 or 4-2
kickdown runaway, 3-4 clutch burnup, direct clutch inner seal leak, soft 1-2 and 2-3 shift. High-Temp/Low Shrink
rings assure quality shifts and extend durability

if you've never dealt with the valve body before, get a pro install, thats what I plan to do.

Yo DA-MAX

When you get that Trans-Go kit installed let me know how it feels?? Have you gotten any quotes on how much the install will be?? I am really eager to find this stuff out. I might call around my area to ask for quotes. A fellow 4th gen owner has this kit already installed and raves about it. I beleive he said that the VB part of the kit is pretty easy to install and that he did it himself. Now if you are planning on replacing all the other parts of the kit, then you will want a specialist to install. This dude supposedly droped his 1/4 mile by quite a bit.

I'm either gonna do the kit or buy axxis pad and bleed my brakes, which ever comes first.

Take care playa,
ICE

I figure.......

it shouldn't be that much, but I've got no problem shelling out the $36 now and letting it sit around until summer when I can work full-time again just in case the install is a little expensive. if the install is under $200-300, I should have it in before spring, anymore and it might have to wait till summer. I also wanna get some feedback from my mechanic and maybe a couple tranny shops in the area, but I'll be ordering it probably mid next month and we'll see from there, so I'll keep you peeps posted if no one gets it in before me!
