Well, since I've been reading some posts about the Pepboy's strobe lights, I decided to buy them and test them out. It's the kind of strobes that have a tube strobe light, relay, and a switch. $12.99 each.
1.) They flash 2 times in a second at regular paces. 2.) You can't control the speed. 3.) The brightness of the flash is not retina burning. 4.) I'm returning them ASAP! Final Word: These strobes aren't bad for people who can't afford strobe lights and have mild mods on their car. In my opinion, I think these strobes are a POS and I could smash them with a baseball bat for all I care.. they will probably burn out within 6 months, they are not very bright (although they are brighter than some other strobes I've seen), and they ONLY HAVE SINGLE FLASHES!!! I only want triple flash strobe lights... nothing else. I'll stick with my original Xenon strobes for now... [Edited by SkyMax on 01-21-2001 at 12:07 AM] |

what do you do with the strobes??

I installed the strobes in my clear corner lenses, headlights, and rear turn signals. So when I'm at a car show I turn the strobes on and hope the judges like what they see :)

I recently bought Hyper Industries adjustable strobe lights. It comes with 2 strobes, a speed controller, and colored tubes. They worked for 2 seconds and then blew out. What a POS! They cost $30. I just bought them to see if they were any good. Now I know the answer.

I have a set of strobes very similar to yours but I hate them because they have single flashes.

This thread is starting to bring back memories of me wanting to put strobes in the taillights and cornering lamps of my car(Similar to a cop car's). After getting a quote from a shop in Chicago for $220 (including strobes, relays and installation), I said #$@!%^&* that. I know for a fact they have to drill a 1" hole in the lights so that the bulbs can be installed and install a relay somewhere on the car.
Personally, I would not get the PepBoys Strobes for the reasons you just mentioned. |
