Can't search . . . must post boring thread . . .
Several things that I want to know here.
1) Has anyone re-whitened the pinstripes on their max. Mine are fading, but I like it better with the stripes so I don't want to just pull them off. 2) where is a picture of the taillights from an se? People say they are different but I don't see enough of them to know what the difference is. I am only asking because I have a busted taillight now and I am thinking about using that as an excuse to convert my gxe over. 3) Where can I learn about wheels for performance. I know that it is good to have light wheels but I don't know if having larger rims and a thinner tire helps in cornering traction, or if it is a bad thing. 4) Does anyone else here design vehicles from the ground up like me? I have been doing this for a while now and I would really like to share ideas with people.(yes I know off topic.) Anyway thanks. |

my sig or homepage has a pic of the SE tails from a VE(92-94). the ones from a VG(89-91), the center piece is blacked out. the VE tails look better i think.

3. From what I understand (info from my dad who is a Porsche Club instructor) wheels are tricky. If you go too big (i.e. 18" on a Maxima) you'll start to reduce tire spin and lose traction in the turns. Plus the larger your wheels are, obviously the heavier and more tangentially inert they become.
Going off topic a bit, does anyone think the 18" wheels on the E46 M3 are too big? And how about the 19" ones on the new M3 GTR? Terrible. -Jake (who still has stock wheels on his '92 SE so don't listen to him) |
thanks for the help guys. keep it coming on 3 and 4

Originally posted by nubiannupe The E46 with 18's shouldn't be too much of a problem - especially since they have the upgraded sport suspension anyway. I don't know about the GTR's though... Could also be the tires though, I'm partial to the Pilots the E36's came with. |
