Intake Manifold and TB Q's

Ok, I have a 87 200sx V6, which is soon to recieve a bored out engine that was formerly in a Maxima. Now I'm debating wheather to just gut my intake manifold, or to install the manifold from the Maxima. If I do run with the Maxima Manifold, I'll deffinetly want a Big Bore Throttle Body, and may port the Maxima intake. So My questons are, where can I find a good High Perf TB for a J30 Maxima? And, How difficult does the variable intake make porting the Manifold?

variable intake isn't a problem, but the only larger TBs are custom stuff.. I would go toward looking at Z31 parts instead of J30 parts when you're looking for intake manifolds and such.. I'm also assuming the 200SX is RWD, correct? the J30 is FWD, I'm sure you know, and the intake comes off the "front" of the engine when mounted in our cars, so it'll come off toward the driver's side in your car, then curve back toward the firewall/tranny.. the Z31 parts are more straightforward and may fit better in your case. take a look at their stuff and see what you can find.

Well my current intake is nearly identical to a Z31, so I'll stick wiht it. I just thought there might be an advantage to the J30 intake. Since theres no oversize TB available, I'll stick with what I've got.

yup.. the Z31 manifold lends itself to more mods than the Max manifold. best off to keep what you've got.
