What do ya think? get a red neon tube, and put it in the middle section between the taillights on the car, and hook it up to the brake wire. At least in the 89-91 gxes in that section there is as far as i know a clear plastic cover over that section then like a half inch room between the red panel that lays behind it with the maxima letters and all.. so theres seems to be enough room to stick a tube in there, and i think it would look cool! what do you guys think??? Could put it in the top so it shines down, or bottom so it shines up or right in the middle so you see it through the plastic. I dunno about 92-94 gxes and se's but i dont think a 89-91 se would work with this...

they also have that neon cable stuff that you use on the interior, that may work too...

i thought about that too

I always wanted to light up the back the only thing was i never knew how much room was back there. Also i wanted it to be lit up evenly but i think mabey a neon strip would look tacky if the rod itself could be seen but mabey if it was not visible and one was on top and one was on the bottom .Or i was thinking about an LED strip or something. Im gonna look at it today. but i was thinking a switch to turn it on and off because personally i would want it on all the time if ti was evenly lit. Im not sure how much room there is or if its easy to get to. <img src="http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1480888&a=11154119&p=40017467&Sequence=0&re s=high">

Trust me.. neon lights are illegal in most states. BMW uses a different style neon lights.. very expensive. It's not the same as the street low neons. Also, you have to worry about melting the plastic on the rear panel. If this isn't wired properly, you could end up setting your car on fire. Not good.

I thought about doing the same thing with my rear panel a few years ago. I wanted the MAXIMA logo in the rear to light up blue... till I found out the MAXIMA logo was just a stupid sticker and the rear panel is just a plastic piece that has no room for bulbs or neon tubes. If you had a set of LED's or the New kind of neon wires, then it might work. This could be a good project for someone to try. Take out the rear panel, drill on the back side and then insert a couple LED lights and drill a hole in the rear trunk behind the center panel and wire them up. I think it would turn out pretty ugly unless someone could make a nice custom design for the rear center panel.

you all really should try putting the "maxima" vilny like i do on my third brake light, takes about 10 min to make and just sticks over the light and it lights up maxima very cool and you would be suprised to see how good it looks.
