ill ask the questions around here , i got two doors jambed, i was shooting for the next week, but i think 2 weeks. ill talk to maximan190 and see what he is gonna go through with the swap.

mike the only reason y im considering it is because i have the parts car, and i know that my trans wasnt rebuild properly when i had it redone, so i dont know how long i have long to go before it goes again. i know it isnt worth it( it will actually bring doen the value of the car) but people like you and me dont have the option to say ill just buy another maxima and swap over mods

either way it would be an over the winter project

How much would it cost, including labour for all aprts and everything? Are we looking atleast a couple grand?

Depends on how you are getting the parts. Mine was basically free after selling all the parts off my parts car. That's the way to go. You get a complete car, which means you dont have to worry about collecting the bits and pieces.

Labor and parts at a shop? Expect AT LEAST a grand in labor and around a 800-1500 for the parts assuming you dont get an aftermarket clutch and lightweight flywheel.

Best way to do it? Parts car and then swap yourself

Just for reference, I bought a VE LSD 5spd tranny to replace mine, Will be buying a fidanza and Exedy/ACT clutch, and just those 3 things alone are costing me around $1100. If I dont buy the fidanza, and go with an OEM clutch it will probably be more like $700ish, but I also get a discount at Napa.

I can reccomend however that you buy as many parts as possiable at once. It will cost less.

I'm doing my own labor, and getting mad that my breaker bar is inadequete. (sp)

well i have the parts car and besides dooing the clutch as easy preventative maintenance i dont see any other expenses. i dont look to do it for preformance, so i dont need the flywheel, maybee just get this one resurfaced. i just would like to know if it's like a solid weekend job and back on the road, or if its headaches all the way. klown, ill pm you later thanks
