Car won't start
My car hasn't been able to start recently, I'm not sure what the problem is and I had a friend come over and look at it. Initially, we thought the starter was the cause of it, but after thoroughly checking it we discovered it was working fine. We thought the automatic gear was not sensing that the car was parked, so we took a look at it too but found it was working perfecty as well. Right now I am not very sure what the cause is.
The powerlocks on the car are not functioning properly. The DEI system installed in the car cannot open the doors, so I have to use my keys, but when I unlock the drive side doors, the other doors do not automatically unlock, I have to manually unlock all the doors. I have accidentally set off the car alarm before and it won't turn off until it stops by itself. I'm wondering if the problem is related to the car alarm system locking the engine, because I have experienced it before where after the alarm goes off, I cannot start the car up. But it has been several days already and my car still won't start. So I'm wondering if anyone has a clue what the problem could be. |
Does the engine turn over, or do you just get nothing when every you turn the key. When ever I bought my Max I found out the hard way, how to operate the door locks. When you lock the doors you have to make sure that you unlock the drivers side door with the key, or it won't deactivate the alarm. I did this a the tag agency after I bought the car. I was with my wife and me being the sweet husband that I am, decided to let her in first. So I unlocked the passengerside door and the used the unlock switch to open the rest of the doors. Well, my Max wouldn't start, so I had to wait 45mins for my dad to drive from a nearby town to give me a jump, which still wouldn't work. Imagine my reaction when it dawned on me to get out the ride and unlock my door.
Hope this helps. |
The engine doesn't turn at all. I've tried locking and unlocking the driver side door, but that didn't help at all.

Do you happen to have any other clues or maybe someone you know who might figure out what the problem is? |

1. Open the driver's door panel and check contacts on the driver's door solenoid (5-wire). He is responsible for opening/closing locks for the rest of the doors. BTW, I had to rebuild mine (it was all rusty inside). 2. Re-place a battery in the remote (?) Alarm: There are 2 alarms on your car right now: factory and DEI Depending on how your DEI alarm is installed, when you open driver's doors with a key, one of them might triger the alarm and starter disable. Try to open the passager's side door first and watch for red alarm light (you should have 2 - yellow for factory alarm and red (?) for DEI. If none are triggered, try to start your maxima again. |
I alsohad this problem, but i tried unlocking the doors, i evetually had it towed to a shop, and had the alarm system cut off. it cost about 100 bux, but its still working fine after 4 months
