I am gonna buy my first maxima tomorrow. It's a 1990 SE. It's got 156k on it and it is fully loaded, except no factory Bose CD/cassette, which I want in it badly.

No you don't

The Speakers will go BAD and after a while so will the HeadUnit..if you really want a Bose take one out of a 4th Gen it's newer and will last longer.

The speakers...

in the one I'm buying tommorrow sounded pretty good when I test drove the car. By the way, the one I'm getting is a 1990 SE that is charcoal gray also. Are SE's better than GXE's. Whats the differences?

Not much

Se spoiler,available 5speed,fogs,sunroof,sportier suspension(i think)Dark around windows,dark grill,Bose system,white gauges. GXE only Auto,chrome around windows,chrome grill,keyless entry,leather(most)more luxury...thats all i can think of right now maybe someone else can answer also.

As far as the stereo mine sounded great for a while too then 1 by 1 the amps started going till they were all gone ..I don't mean to scare you but if you ask around youll realize that they will go bad I mean the speakers and headunit are 11yrs old
