How are the rod bearings on the 1990 Max's?

Hey, I am new to the Maxima, and I have a 93 Taurus SHO, and they are pretty prone to needing the bearings replaced after about 150k miles, how are the maxima engines? Mine seems to sound good now with 125k. Any other areas I should watch for? So far I like the Maxima.. its a pretty nice ride. Hopefully I will have good luck with it.

He has a VE engine so he does not have a timing belt, he has three timing chains which will last the life of the car.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the VG's lower end. It's one of the more stout bottom ends on the market. But alot depends on how it was taken care of up to now. If it's good presently, it should last a long time w/ just normal schedule care.
