Motor Mounts

I was told that my 91 maxima (automatic) needs to have the motor mounts replaced. How difficult is it to replace them - both the front and two in the back? Where can I order this in the internet.

Thanks for your help.
Doug

don't know about how difficult they are to replace.
But I do sell the mounts.

not that difficult to replace if u can pull the motor out with a cherry picker

what? no, you just break the bolts free, jack up the engine, then remove the bolts and mount, put the new mount in, install all the bolts and tighten them, then remove the jack, and I'd just give them one last tightening with the jack gone just incase.

Hi,

how much money for the motor mounts?

i think the 90 has the same problem with the 91 because both are in the same generation,

I need motor mounts bad for my Ve 5-speed, can't seem to find them for a decent price or no one has them in stock. I got a quote from a local mechanic and he said it'd be like 175 in labor. Is this right i don't know how to replace them myself. But yeah if you could internetautomar can you get me some prices on these for a Ve manual. thanks

MrGone, 'Jack up the engine' this where I have a little hesitance. How difficult is it if I just got a 2 1/2 ton floor jack (not engine jack). As far as part concern, I was quoted about $50 a piece ($150 for all three).

ye au could do that too but I have a cherry picker and its much easier. But if u dont got one sure doin that way is cheaper and better

I wish I had one, it would make moving engines, removing them, and installing them sooo much easier.

it is not very difficult to do!! you will need to replace four mounts 2 motor, and 2 trani. i got mine for like 50 each on the motor, and like 60 for the trani mounts. more or less you need to remove the cross member from the bottom of the engine, and essentially slightly raise the engine so that there is very little tension on the bolts that run thru the mounts. it is a little more specific than this but the general idea. better to have the car on a lift if worried about jacksstands
