throtle body's help

just wondering can throttlebody's be swapped from same year or later pathfinders maybe have a lil more flow to them? or a site that has throtle bodys for a sohc gxe? also looking for intake manifold and headers prefered brands? thanks :) a gd on throttle bodys and spacers would be nice also mass air meters might be usable also bigger is better >.<

I believe your SOL on this one. However there is a trick thats pretty popular with the turbo 240sx guys, they use say a 3.5" diameter pipe (stock is ~3") and put the actual MAF sensor in it. They have dynos proving they got better results using the modified MAF and stock ecu than using a JWT ecu and stock MAF.

thanks if u could post a link of a pick of that or post a pick would rly help :) so i could see it sounds simple enough maybe even makin a bigger one:))

Hmmm.... that pretty interesting. Do you think that this mod would provide gains on an N/A car? It makes sense with the turbo, since they move a large volume of air. I would still guess the piping would give a small gain to N/A engines, somewhat like a larger throttle body.

I think it would help out NA cars. I would try it but I dont have a spare MAF.

Going too big could make you run lean, I wouldn't go more than 3.5" with out a way to monitor the engine.

I'll try to find a link :)

No, unfortunately no one makes larger throttle bodys for our cars. You can, however, port and polish the inside. Basically take a dremel and grind down the inside on both side of the plate and port match the intake manifold. Aaron has a very good writeup on this.

I have a spare MAF and it could be yours for the low low price of $40+shipping :grinno: Oh, btw, did you get that test pipe?

I don't know anyones real name, where is the write-up located, or is it under a different name in the faq?

I welded my initials and b-day onto it just ****ing around. ****ty welds huh? It was like my first time ****ing around w/ a welder. Yeah it should be a nice packing job for the focking $8 the lady screwed me out of. I dont know why she felt the need to put bubble wrap in there. I ended up losing $3 in that deal. :( Oh well I guess.
